Just when I think his offense is good enough, his shot goes completely in the toilet. Still young enough to improve, but anyone else getting a little concerned? If I see one more floater from him when he could go up and draw contact, ugh.

He’s about to go back to the bench as well which will probably shoot his confidence down even further…

It probably shouldn’t considering I’m sure he knew he was going back to the bench once CJ was back

Wait till Willie starts giving Naji more minutes than him.

Last 5 games he's averaging 5.2 pts on 25% from the field and .095% from three

I know it’s frustrating, but he’s still learning and developing.

If this continues, he is unplayable. Unfortunately, last night his offense was affecting his defense. He was the worst player on the court in the third quarter. I see a big decrease in his minutes coming.

We are almost at the quarter pole and his splits are about 41/25/63. Those are all worse than last year.

The Curious Case of Dyson Daniels. I think the Pels are counting on DD to eventually develope and become a MAJOR part of an improved Pels team...AND PLAYING ALONGSIDE HERB.

No way they even consider giving up on DD...or his outside shot. They recognize the potential of having a Herb/DD combo on the defensive end. That combo could possibly be the ONLY major advantage that the Pels will have over other teams...in the near future...and it could indeed be a quite formidable edge.

He currently has HUGE problems on the offensive end. He will be given EVERY opportunity to fix these problems...especially if the Pels decide at some point this season, that they are not serious playoff contenders this year.

Looks like Herb is making the "3rd year leap". Still early, but his overall offensive game has taken a massive jump, in every respect. Not gonna go into ALL the different stats that make this leap obvious...but they are there...for sure. Now, let's stick with working with DD & see what he turns out to be. Worse case scenario...we have to turn him into a "dedicated" corner 3 guy. Just stand in the corner and ONLY shoot corner 3s...AND PLAY THAT D. His corner #s are MUCH better than his above the break #s. Hate to see DD just stand in the corner & shoot when open...but that's probably the Pels' fallback position...if DD doesn't improve. I'm still optimistic on DD.

Dyson is still only 20

When Herb was 20, he was a college soph and would play 3 more years at Bama

Just a little perspective

Having all players available and gaining some continuity in a role will do Dyson lotta good

This

While I've certainly ranted a lot this season that blowing some of these November games is more important IMO than some give credit for, but there's no other time to develop young players other than playing regular season games, so we have no choice but to give Dyson minutes, especially when they're available. And IMO you can't simply say stop shooting because he sucks at it. There is only one way for Dyson to either improve or for us to learn that he'll never be good at it, and that's for him to do that thing(shooting 3s for this example) in real game action.

He's young, and he should continue to get minutes in hopes that he will develop (something like 15mpg), but the many folks on this board who think he should start over CJ or cut into CJ's minutes (especially at the end of games) are f*cking delusional.

This is just who he is I think for the foreseeable future. He’s gonna be inconsistent.

In the future I really hope we continue to draft the offensive guys who at least have a good motor defensively. I think that’s the formula.

Dyson, like a lot of the team, plays best when everyone is giving effort on defense which leads to the team running on offense.

Hard to do when the two stars don't want to play defense or hustle. Or rather can't because they're out of shape.

Dyson deserves criticism but stars should make role players look better than they are, not worse.

He just cannot shoot. He never has. He really needs to find someway to create offense so that he stays on the court as his defense is great.

Honestly, might not be a popular sentiment, but I think Dyson is trade bait to include with Larry in order to get a quality backup, defensive minded center, which is what this team needs.
You have to give up something of value and I rather keep Jonas to score and the backup to Defend late in the game...

Zero chance that's his value.

yep… he’s fricked right now.

If he could just be rookie year Herb offensively, he wouldn’t come off the court.

In his current state, despite his D and overall skill which is awesome… he’s unplayable for long or key stretches when he’s this bad offensively.

However, I believe in him big time long term.

i think of Dyson and Herb on defense similar to how i think of Z and BI on offense. 1 has to be on the court at all times and there are plenty instances in games where it’s best to have them both on.

just like Z and BI on defense, Dyson and Herb have their inconsistencies on offense, but that does not make them unplayable when they have a couple bad games. just as Z and BI help minimize offensive struggles with Dyson on the court, Dyson helps minimize defensive struggles with Z and BI on the court.

one of the main reasons to be patient with Dyson other than those mentioned already (age/experience), is often his great defense turns into great offense for the team. his and Herb’s high energy on the court is essential when Z, BI, and others have shown they won’t keep their energy high all by themselves.

his shooting needs to improve but im not taking him off the court especially when he consistently locks down the other team’s best ball handler and allows Herb to play safety/center field/guard the best wing
