Huge Victor dog and cat recall

There is a recall for many Victor dog and cat foods, I know a lot of people here feed it like we do. The issue is Salmanella.

I got the email from Chewy earlier and sent my request for refund for 4 bags. We just got our 2 months supply this week so I have 200 pounds of food to throw away. y for I love Chewy for how easy they are making it to deal with.

Talked to my vet recently. He recommended royal canin, science diet or Purina one.
We have one dog who doesn't like kibble without some wet food. Anyone do exclusively wet food?

Purina is always recommended by knowledgeable dog folks from my experience. My German shepherds and my husky had it for 13 years—give it a shot

My German shepherd is spoiled and loves fresh food.
Everytime I come home she expects me to cook for her. She will not eat most dog foods unless it is in a can.
I finally got around to purchase a bag of Royal Canine's German Shepherd Blend. She will eat that.
It is over 100 dollars for 30 lb. bag.

Like Diamond it used to be a "feed store" and specialty shop only brand which is why a lot of hunters with active dogs fed it. In the last few years it has expanded to online stores and stand alone pet stores. Around BR you find it at Tractor Supply, Grecos, Griffith Vet Center and similar.

I use Purina Pro Plan for my two Bernedoodle puppies because that is what the breeder recommended. I used Victor for years because I have a good vendor that is local.

Yup. Just cleared out 9 bags for the rescue I help. Sams brand beef n rice also recalled. Must be made at same facility, thus, Sam’s is Victor. Just as Tractor Supply and Costco are Diamond. I rotate bt Diamond and Victor and luckily this time don’t have any Victor in rotation.

I’m fairly certain salmonella isn’t a concern for an animal that is able to eat raw meat.
