Get some black chickens to put into your flock. Black Australorps are great if you want good eggs. Hawks will think they are crows and won't mess with them.

You have the right to protect your livestock

Proving that the hawks were actively endangering your chickens could be tough

Being in the position of having to prove you were justified in killing a hawk would generally be because you were running your mouth

No. It’s illegal to kill a raptor for any reason.

An alternative

Maybe this will
Help.

Where are said chickens? If you put them in a pen without a top, it's you that's murdering those chickens Baw.

Owl decoy is what I’ve heard, apparently owl decoys are used to scare off everything in the world.

Owl decoys don’t work. I don’t have chickens right now, but I had a hawk problem as well, even with the Astrolops. He/she must have migrated away.

You’ll just have to deal with it. Can’t stop the nature of things.

I've heard one can place a tall 4x4 wood post in middle of chicken pen. Set a steel foot trap on top of 4x4 post, and secure it to post. Hawk lands on post to survey chicken pen and is caught.

Just run said trap before neighbors wakeup in the morning.

The Feds know about that. Once i flew in the Fed cessna airplane to go look for that. The poles were very high. In Amite. We took off in belle chase. The plane was capable of gliding with the engine off. Thats what we did. Killed the engine and glided over the guy’s yard to look for traps.

I glad to hear our tax dollars are being spent efficiently.

Ain’t that the truth, taking a private plane from belle chase to Amite to catch someone protecting their chickens from hawks, wow, just throwing away money

This: put some netting over the top of the pen and you're good to go.
