Haven't been to Vegas in over 11 years and may be hitting it this weekend for an impromptu get away. what is new what is the must does in a short time I have...there Friday night coming home Monday morning?

I keep reading about Freemont St. missed that last time I was there never heard of it...anything to it?

what says the mighty OT and the Vegas ballers?

living in LA I can gamble whenever so not really looking to do much of that(except the sports books...I will hit those up for the NFL divisional round for sure)

Freemont is old Vegas. There's a secret bar near the Commonwealth that's the best in Vegas.

Fremont is old AF and a shithole. Don't bother with it. Are you going with your SO, solo, or with some guys? Makes a diff.

There's not a whole lot to it, but I thought it was worth it for a quick trip down there. We stopped in Binion's for a bit, walked around for a bit and then caught a cab back to the strip.

If have not been to Fremont you need to experience it. Places like the Golden Nugget are fun to walk through and see. Some good meal places in that area as well.

Steakhouse at the Circus Circus, best value on the strip.

I'm not a club guy (neither is the wife) but the scene at the Foundation Room at Mandalaya Bay is kinda cool if it's not too crowded. Great view of the strip.

Definitely catch a show (Absinthe, Beatles Love, O Michael Jackson One are all cool), concert or comedy act (Gabriel Iglesias, etc).

Ok, I just got back from Vegas yesterday. Went for CES. Here are my thoughts and observations:

Stay at the Aria, if not the Wynn. All others that I saw are average to garbage. I stayed at the Bellagio and regretted it.

Have dinner at Sage (in Aria) and you won't regret it. Outstanding atmosphere, meal, and service. I did the tasting menu and with the wine pairing it was $190. Worth every penny.

Avoid at all costs Tom collichio's Craftsteak. I can't remember a time when I was more disappointed in a restaurant. After paying for that garbage meal I want to slap his bald arse head.

Cirque du soleil is insanely impressive. Go if you have time. We saw the Beatles love and it was incredible.

i wouldnt go back to Freemont

If you havent been to Vegas in 11 years, then get ready to shell out some cash. Its gotten ridiculous on prices for food and lodging.

im sure you can find some sweet deals, but get ready for $50 lunches and expensive dinners. Bet on black

Went this weekend. We went to Fremont street for an hour, not really worth it if you've seen it before. Must sees: the Venetian, Caesars Palace, Aria and Paris. If you're going with a significant other I'd stay at any of those with Venetian being a clear #1.

We ate the best dinner we've ever had at Jean Georges steak house in Aria. Absolutely recommend it but it is expensive. A la carte steak starts at $60 so youre looking at $180 per person after tip, booze, sides, etc.

Fremont St. is the old downtown Vegas. The Golden Nugget and Binion's Horseshoe are the two big places. They have domed in the street corner and it lights up and plays music at night. It is a far cry from the new strip but if you have never been and have an extra couple of hours, it is worth seeing. Except for the domed street, it is like stepping back in time 50 years.

With Old Vegas take the time to go into the old casinos and experience it. Walking on the street up and down is not that big a deal but go eat inside Golden Nugget and in one of the casinos they have the pool with acquarium surrounding it.

I have been to Vegas three times and we only did Fremont St once and it was worth it.

Freemont st is always the highlight of my Vegas trip. Go at night when they have the live bands and you will have a ball.

Freemont is good at night on the weekend if you've never been. Great people watching. Slots loose in Golden Nugget. Catch a Cirque show. Saw Mystere last time. Thought it was really good. I've seen "O" already. Rather Mystere. Stayed at Aria last time. Best so far. Have stayed at Cosmo and Bellagio in the past. We always eat at Taco El Gordo. Authentic.
