That waiver they posted yesterday pissed me off. Seriously, some 2-4 hour delays and they post a waiver but nothing for 35 mph winds?? Ugh

Wednesday, Thursday or Friday? The flight to vegas at 8:20am comes in from houston at 7:20am, meaning you have to hope your flight can make it here that morning

I think they worded it funny and incorrect. It should say from noon tuesday through thursday. Call them up now and see if you can be rescheduled for today or friday.

unfortunately, my leave is supoosed to start thursday, so the earliest i could reschedule would be tomorrow afternoon. i could do friday if necessary but i'd prefer to just keep my thursday flight if possible. when do you think delays or cancellations would start populating?

this is the link to my flight status:

I think they do it to avoid the ripple effect of delays and open up seats so passengers with flexible schedules will change.

It's smart but you think they'd be consistent with the waivers and not just focus on the northeast. I'm on the 9:30am friday morning BTR-ATL-AMS-CPH and I was hoping to change to thursday BTR-ATL-PHL/JFK then friday PHL/JFK-CDG-CPH so at least I get out of here before it gets even worse (plus could visit some friends or family for a day)

If winds pick up to roughly 40 mph. You can't takeoff or land in that. The winds are gonna be consistently at 22mph tomorrow and thursday LINK

so there shouldn't be any issues with my flight assuming the winds don't pick up? sorry if these are stupid questions, i'm not a super experienced flyer.

Thinking tomorrow will be the shite day, with cancellations, so they'll be making up ground on Thursday big time. Think I'll roll the dice and not change

If there's tstorms or tornados besides the wind gusts above 40mph, then there will be delays. I really can't predict the future, but all I know is that tomorrow and thursday are not going to be great travel days. I don't know if southwest will end up cancelling their flights, but if the storm stays stationary as it does not that will only add onto the rain totals for the area

So you're one the 8:20 a.m. out of MSY to LV? I think I'm taking my chances right now. Hoping it's not delayed because then I'll miss my connection to San Fran. Post in here if you see something change and I'll do the same.

yep, thurs, 8:20 to LV - will do.

Does SW re-book cancellations or do you have to be johnny on the spot and re-book on your own ?

That's a good question. Their IT system should automatically rebook you, but not sure how useful it is. If either of you could leave this afternoon/evening that would probably be much better than thursday morning

Not real sure. I fly a few times a year but I've been fairly lucky and never had to deal with this. I'm gonna push my luck...have a house rented in Napa through Tuesday and it's nonrefundable...so I'm fairly determined to get there somehow.

American airlines just posted a waiver if you're flying through thursday so all you AA people get to rebooking!

FWIW.. Bob seems to be telling it like it is, instead of all of the media buzz
