How far in advance should I know if the flight is cancelled or rerouted?

They probably won't know until wednesday morning but keep an eye out. Reroutes happen in the air, unfortunately I've been stuck with that on DFW-Vail, got halfway to colorado and turned around in the air back to Dallas.

My husband is flying in from Florida tomorrow morning, with a layover in Atlanta. Do you think he'll beat the outer bands that may be hitting?

A day or two. They'll pretty much rebook everyone on flights leaving friday or saturday depending on availability. Hopefully flights aren't too full this weekend, will give some leeway to the airlines and passengers

Thanks. Wasn't worried but I really didn't know how long it took to rebook people.

I fly out of BPT on Friday at 18:30. Chances that gets canceled? What is the process of waivers being issued?

Currently on a 6pm flight tomorrow from Houston to New Orleans - do the experts here think I need to switch to the first flight out tomorrow?

If you can get out in the morning (doesn't have to be the first thing), I would change to that. Can you do it for free or $75?

I'd suggest getting on any of the early flights to MSY, but doesn't have to be the earliest. Are you on united or southwest?

6:05am, 6:40am, or 8:20am (10:35am is sold out). I'd go for the 8:20am so you can at least sleep in a bit, but that's my personal choice (not a morning person). The 6:05am or 6:40am are safe bets because your plane is already in houston

Flight from New Orleans to Orlando on Thursday. Should I assume this isn't going to happen? Or will it it be over by then?

Also have to drive from Biloxi to New Orleans. Not looking forward to it.
