1,300 nights at a Marriott property. Not including Hilton nights.

I'm not a Marriott rewards member. What does this mean in terms of rewards/membership?

Platinum for life level is at 750. So, just a personal milestone I guess. I don't get any added benefits from Marriott.

No wife, no kids. It's starting to get old though!

I could see that. I imagine it was pretty damn fun for awhile, though.

I recently left a corporate america job that had me traveling 100k miles a year to go into family business. Couldn't stand the Sunday evening good byes to my wife and daughter (1 y/o). It has it's perks and some people can do it, but it's not for me.

dayum. That's some serious travel. I'm a Hilton guy, but only have about 650 nights at this point. It's starting to wear on me for the reasons you listed. I'm married with two little ones and the wife just left her full time job because working full time, getting the kids around, dealing with my travel, and paying for daycare just wasn't worth it.

Where do you find the total nights? All I ever see is a year to date number.

You have to call into the Diamond line (or the regular hilton honors line). They can tell you your progress towards lifetime diamond (10 years of diamond AND 1,000 paid nights).

Yall fly out Sundays? When I'm not on a local project it's out Monday morning and back Thursday afternoon.

10 years of diamond

Do they have to be consecutive? I did 14 years of 25+ weeks per year on the road, but I was spread across three brands for the first five or six years. I'm guessing I probably had 8 years of diamond consecutively, ending last year.

No, just ten total years of achieving diamond status along with 1,000 paid nights

Mine varies substantially. Most of my hotel stays are driving distance, and I'm typically only in a location for 1 to 2 nights at a time

Wow. That's a lot of time on the road. I feel your pain. I'm a Lifetime Marriott Platinum too. 1100 nights and 3M points. Congrats to you, I guess.

The travel is terrible, but the upgrades are always nice. Also, the family loves me as we always get to take really nice cheap trips for vacations.

Earned lifetime PLT status with Marriott a number of years back before they lowered the threshold. Unsure what my total nights are at this time. Tried for a couple of years to achieve PLT Premium status and never did receive it, even with a year of 200+ nights in FS Marriott properties. So, now I stay in Hilton properties or in my RV if I can find a decent campground close enough to the hospital I am covering.
