I'd like to hear about the experience.

Why don't you select your seats in advance?

We did...but all the seats they offer on our planes are in sections of three.

Three left side, three center and three on the right side. The only way to prevent one of us not being in the middle is either upgrade to a higher class or sit away from each other.

My favorite airline by far is virgin America.
What sets them apart?

Free tv on every plane. Touch screen ordering system for everything, be it a $5 movie or a free refill on your soda. Never once has my flight been delayed. 32 inch leg room standard (my understanding is most other airlines are 30-31). Constantly running sales and promos. I can go on and on.

The in flight experience is so much better than United or southwest.

JetBlue is pretty similar. Alaska just bought Virgin America. I don't know if they're keeping the VA brand or not. Hope so.

Ive flown jet blue a few times and enjoyed the experience. I really hope Alaska keeps the VA brand.

It's still undecided, I believe. Alaska has made Comments that they may indeed keep the Virgin Brand because if the loyalty consumers have for it.

Alaska will keep the brands separate. Alaska's current COO will be in charge of the Virgin brand once the "merger" is complete.

World's best cabin staff: 1. Garuda Indonesia

Bull fricking shite. They shouldn't even be top 20. Best cabin staff is far and away Singapore Airlines. I guess Emirates or EVA would be second.

This would be my top 5...

1. Singapore Airlines
2. Emirates
3. Cathay Pacific
4. EVA
5. Qantas

Would love to see your thoughts on EVA.

I will give you mine since I have flown them from Singapore to Houston and back twice recently. Great airline, newer planes, friendly staff, decent entertainment options, food is OK. I have flown both economy and premium economy with them. The space in economy is more than ample even for a tall guy like myself. Premium economy was nice bc you can recline more and have a bit more arm space. For me its not only one of the cheapest options back to the US its also the shortest (21 hours) so will probably using them or SingAir going forward.

Very smart business decision.... I am surprised because most corporate heads do the exact opposite of the best solution.

I don't get it either. I always check southwest in addition to kayak, and their flights are never the cheapest option.

Don't think I have ever seen them more than $10 cheaper, if that. I would rather pay the few extra bucks and fly Delta or American.
