Make sure you get the audio tour headphones. It is really good.

If you have time, of course Muir Wood, Sonoma/Napa, and there is a beach nearby Muir Wood as well that is supposed to be phenomenal for sunset but we ran out of sunlight to get there.

Pier 39-Fisherman's Wharf ...probably depart from here for Alcatraz.

Lombard Street

Golden Gate Bridge

Ghirardelli Square

Trans America Building

Better hit the ground running....just three days.

Have fun!

Agreed. Nobody making any snide comments like why does the OP have a picture of a San Fran Giants WS ring and start threads about them on the MSB and yet doesn't know what to do in SF.

Just because I'm a Giants fan doesn't not mean I'm a frequent visitor of SF

Screw the haters. Pac Bell Park is beautiful, screw the haters.

Seconded on Muir Woods and the associated beach.

Rental car? Just public transit? Can everyone handle lots of walking? Buy a 3 day muni passport if using transit and hit it hard..includes the cable car, street cars, muni rail and buses and will get you to ballpark, Alcatraz departure point, the beach, suturo baths, coit tower, Lombard, pier 39/wharf and whatever else.

I would personally go to the presidio and hike down to marshals beach before driving to Stinson....

My husband and I rented bikes, biked over the Golden Gate to Sausalato, and spent the afternoon there before taking the ferry back to SF. The company we rented the bikes from had a drop off point right at the pier. I'd recommend biking over and taking the ferry back, unless you're really into uphill biking.

Hendry Vineyard- tour/tasting with the owner.

In and Out Burger is overrated.

1. Alcatraz - check out Pier 39 and fisherman Wharf while down there but it's all touristy, so don't spend much time there.

2. Ride the cable car - you just have to.

3. China town - I recently at at Hunan Place on Jackson which was good.

4. Stop at Haight -Ashbury and then rent bikes through golden gate park

5. Take in Golden Gate Bridge- if you have a car drive to Saisilito and eat at the taco place.

Unless you are driving anywhere (like Napa) I would uber most places.
