Recently realized I have a half day Friday, and Monday off. Looking to get the frick out of this delta known as Louisiana.

Willing to do a mountain biking/hiking trip, cycling, golf, or anything else that is essentially outdoors. Looking to keep it under 8-9 hours.

Its a possibility. I've been a number of times and enjoy it, but maybe trying to do something more rural.

Cheap flights Friday afternoon-Monday morning from New Orleans include Philly for $284, Chicago for $256, Vancouver $376.

Go somewhere from right where you sit by way of watching a movie you think you'd like.

The time span of this movie route is usually around 1 hr and 30 min.

I've seen a few posts kind of looking for the same thing so I'll keep suggesting the same place...Chattanooga.

Tons to do outdoors, less than 8 hours, cheap, nice people, really fun place for a few days.

$400 will get you to Portland and back. You might find something outdoorsy to do there.

I won't be in town, though, so you'd have to try and find the breweries on your own. You could house sit, though...

The Natchez Trace is a great scenic drive if you haven't done it. Plenty of opportunities for walks, hikes, camping, etc..

I would also say Chattanooga. Louisville is also a great town.

If you're willing to fly, head to Chicago. Great time of year to be there.

I also vote for Portland. They have city stuff and amazing breweries, but the nature is awesome too.

You can come to my house and eat BBQ and get wasted, but it's still flat here.
