...that you haven't been to yet. And why?

For me, it's San Diego. Still haven't been and I'm dying to get there. No real reason other than the fact that the weather is beautiful, and the idea of renting a BMW convertible and driving from the beach to the golf course every day sounds fantastic.

More referring to domestically than international travel, simply because I'm not sure what my answer would be as far as outside the US goes.

US:

Probably something like Seattle or a city/town in the mountain west.

I enjoyed San Francisco a lot.

Internationally, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Domestic: Probably Jackson Hole. Love skiing, never been to Wyoming.

Internationally: Seoul. Tons of korean friends growing up and love their food and culture. Somehow was able to book a 20 hr layover there for my way back from China in September so I'll give an update

International-Barcelona

Will probably be going to both within a year. Barcelona is on the honeymoon hit list, along with a few other places in Spain/Italy/Croatia maybe.

The only major cities I have never visited in the contiguous U.S. are Minneapolis, Seattle, the cities in Texas, and Columbus, OH and of those, the only one I'd entertain a visit to is Seattle and it's not even close! Fortunately, I'm moving to Portland in August.

Top international I guess is Paris. Then London, Angkor Wat, and Tokyo

Top Domestic would probably be New York City. I spent 8 hours there almost 30 years ago as a member of the LSU Bengal Brass, but would like to go back for a proper visit.

Runner up: New Haven, Ct. if only for the "apizza" and to get a burger at Louis' Lunch.

I also hear amazing things about San Diego.

I'm in the preliminary stages of my relocation... In other words, I have no clue yet!

Suggestions?

Depends.

How old are you?

Do you have kids and are schools important?

Do you want to live in the city or the burbs?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how hipster are you?

What's your budget?

Where is work? If you are working in the 'burbs, I would probably live as close to work as I can and you can always go downtown whenever you want to. Especially if you're on a tight budget. Public transportation in Portland is pretty good, with the bus and train system. If downtown life is important to you, you can always live somewhere close to the train. I live within walking distance of the train.

I live in Beaverton, where I work. It's definitely the burbs, but it's not far from downtown, Portland, really. Portland housing is pretty expensive. If you can buy, you probably won't regret it, as prices are going up, and Portland is still a bargain compared to Seattle.

Lake Oswego is great, but expensive. I rented in Bethany, and that is a nice community.

I would avoid the commute down Hwy 217, because it is the most congested highway in the area, although the roads from Vacouver get pretty bad because of the bridges. There are a number of urban neighborhoods with older homes on the east side of the Willamette River.

I thought you were moving to Seattle or Phoenix?

Portland is a poor man's Seattle. It's not on the Puget Sound, but that just makes it easier to get around in. Portland is cheaper than Seattle, but not cheap. A one bedroom apartment will run you $1200-$1400 dollars.

I remember that you are an outdoors person, so it doesn't really matter where you live, you are a short drive from outdoors life. Plenty of fishing, hunting, hiking, and skiing to be had.

Moscow or St. Petersburg

Pretty self-explanatory, history, museums, the centers of the Romanov and the original and current Evil Empires.

Home run destination! There are more than 20 beaches North County(Oceanside) and Mexico. Check out that sunset. ....the real one...for us US folk. And if you get a convertible, you are obligated to cruise Pacific Coast Highway 101!
