Is there a "Magazine Street" type of area in Chicago.

Walkable, lots of shops, restaurants, galleries, etc.

Also, have to go to Wrigley today to pick up my Pearl Jam tickets.

Any late lunch/early dinner recommendations around Wrigley?

Milwaukee between North and Division has an abundance of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. This area is heavy in boutique shops. That's over in the Wicker Park area.

Gold Coast/Streeterville/River North is a pedestrian-heavy area, especially on weekends, but you'll find plenty of shopping and restaurants. I'd recommend walking down Rush from Division toward Magnificent Mile.

There are plenty of bars along Clark that you grab a quick bite, but you'll find some pretty good restaurants over on Halsted in Boystown. Both are in easy walking-distance from Wrigley.

If you're into deep dish, Lou Malnati's is only about a mile and a half south in Lincoln Park. Pequod's is a couple miles south on the western border of Lincoln Park.

An alternative to Halsted and Boystown is Southport, 4 blocks west of the stadium on Addison.

Corridor Brewing is a great brewpub to check out on Southport. Butchers Tap is also a good bet.

There is no real Magazine Street equivalent, but you could head down to Wells St in Old Town, lots of bars, shops and restaurants.

Has anyone eaten at RPM Italian in Chicago? It came highly recommended and we're eating there next Saturday so my buddy can carb load for his triathlon the following morning.

Gibson's on Sunday night!

Totally forgot about Corridor, which comes from the DryHop team, both of which are conveniently located from Wrigley Field. I'd be inclined to recommend DryHop over Corridor if choosing between the two.

Not sure how I forgot about Old Town considering I live in that neighborhood.

In terms of boutique shops, restaurants, bars, etc., I would say Old Town and Milwaukee between North and Division are good spots.

Good, upscale spot that is adequately-priced.

I'm a big fan of their lobster ravioli.

I typed A long sarcastic response, then realized that was a dick move.

If I were you, I would wander around Wrigleyville popping into and out of bars until you get hungry. Then find a good hot dog place. Don't order ketchup (Trust me, do NOT order ketchup), and go for the Polish sausage.

My wife is from Chicago and I went to school there. I cannot stand the town. However, they make a damn fine hot dog, and those bars in Wrigleyville are just fricking fun.

If you want a fun walk-able area, and you won't do Wrigley, try Michigan avenue. It's much more upscale than magazine, but it's really quite nice. And before any of the locals jump me, I know it is tourist heavy, but it's tourist heavy because it's nice.

I've been to RPM Italian twice, had the lobster rav both times, I second this!

Flying in and out of for GB game. Anyone have any idea how long it takes to fly out? From what I have seen they recommend you get there 3 hours early. Does it really take that long?

It took that long earlier in the late-spring / early-summer. Things have mostly leveled-off and three hours might be a bit extreme, even in the early hours.

I can attest that this is no longer the case. HOWEVER, if you are flying out of Terminal 3 at ORD (American, Alaska, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier, or Virgin) either allow a little extra time (2 hours should be plenty) or clear security at Terminal 2 and walk over to Terminal 3. Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are all connected air side.

You can't go wrong at either, but I'm partial to Corridor because I live within a 3-iron of the place.

Thanks.

Been to Chicago many times. I know the routine.

Mostly looking for a non-Michigan Avenue place to wander around and a place to grab a bite and a beer after I pick up my Pearl Jam tickets this afternoon.

I am considering staying in Chicago this Thursday night before heading toward Green Bay on Friday morning. What is the best area to stay, Downtown Chicago-River North or Water Tower-Magnificent Mile area? Which is the easiest to access by the L?
