All I can tell you is to avoid Tom Collichio's Craftsteak like the plague. Entire meal from service to food was terrible.

With you. Had a very mediocre meal at Craftsteak, but some people seem to like it.

Not the most popular, but I really enjoyed my meal at VooDoo Steak on top of the Rio.

Carnevino, Batali's Italian steak place. Nosebleed expensive but legit

I've had two steaks at Capital Grille and left more than satisfied each time. Beast steaks I've had in my life, but I wouldn't say that I've been to many "famous" places.

Yes, I know its a chain.

I will second Carnevino. My best friend got my wife and I a very large gift card for Carnevino on our honeymoon. It was expensive but the steak was great.

Only one I ate at was Gallagher's and had the aged beef. Was good but was even better since I wasn't paying.

Carnevino failed to impress ke. I think we paid $80 for a steak that tasted like wal mart meat you cooked at home. I'm not saying that to be an arse but it was that underwhelming.

I ate at Smith and Wollensky when I was there. It was pricey, but good.

VooDoo Steak on top of the Rio.

I ate there about 15 years ago. Was a great experience.

Also ate at Brand in Monte Carlo about 8 years ago.

Ate at The Steak House at Circus Circus a couple months ago.

Best atmosphere was VooDoo. Best steak was at The Steak House, however, the menu is very limitied and "no frills". Not much of a wine selection or sides. But, the ambience was totally "old Vegas". Brass light fixtures, green velvet walls, dark, dark wood, etc. There were lots of "old vegas" characters in there.

SW steakhouse at the Wynn was great food and service. Also an ambiance that's unforgettable.

Don't know that there is one best. The nicer casinos all have top quality meats and chefs.

i'm pretty sure the 3 of us have made this comment in at least 2 other threads, but yeah, crafsteak was by far the most disappointing steakhouse i've ever been to.

to answer the OP- there isn't just one, as there are so many great steakhouses. Some of my favorites-

del friscos- chain, but the sides are great and their bone in filet is one of the 3 best steaks i've ever had

mastros @ crystals- another chain, mostly on the west coast, but A+ all around

Prime @ bellagio- expensive, but A+ romantic atmosphere. great to bring a date, not ideal for night out with the guys

stripsteak @ mandalay- great food, hip atmosphere

other comments-
went to Steve Wynn steakhouse years ago when it first opened, wasn't impressed, but that was almost 15 years ago, things may have changed.

gordon ramsay steak @ paris and n9ne @ palms are good, lively atmosphere at both places

circus circus steakhouse is solid, but i'd pass. eating there requires you to go to the circus circus which a. sucks and b. is a bit farther from the heart of the strip. what you save on your bill you spend on cab money. IIRC ballys has a similarly priced steakhouse in a better location

there are a ton of other places that are so-so; i.e. brand @ monte carlo, stk @ cosmo

Cut and carnevino are tops on my list of places to try next. My wife has been to Jean Georges and said it's amazing.

I think we are going to try Del Frisco's. CUT looked too modern for me. I would rather just have a old school type feel steakhouse.
