The only thing worse than an apple fanboy is an overzealous apple hater

I don't understand why people hate the BSoD so much. It tells you what's wrong before forcing a reboot. My MacBook randomly reboots all the time, and I only get these random jangles automatically telling me why it crashed. Random reboots are part of OS. And that's just fact.

Like I said, not even remotely close to the original iphone. What is there to disagree about? I didn't say there was no such thing as a smartphone. The usability was not even close though. It was far ahead of the curve in comparison to the smartphones available, which is was the original comment was in reference to.

I'm sure that's why everybody kept the clumsy slide out keyboards and buttons though.

Get over yourself. You hate apple, we get it.

apple removed the stylus, added pinch to zoom, forced everyone to use an on-screen keyboard and added a store for apps.

all those were innovative but the basic software running on the first iphone was no more better or worse than the windows mobile software at the time.

hell apple didnt even have copy & paste originally.

i never said apple didnt take the smartphone out of the developer's hands and into Paris Hilton's purse but if you had any basic understanding of the evolution of the smartphone you'd know the majority of the things apple put into their phone had been out there for 5+ years already.

website doesn't support safari, not the other way around. What's maddening is that chrome is built on the same engine that safari is, so it should work.

exactly. The irony is the bashing comes from people that have been subjected to the likes of the blue screen of death and Windows Vista and Windows8. But But but Gman. Microsoft gets pass for that case they make pretty decent server software.

Apple products hold their value like no other product on the market besides guns and houses. I bought the iPhone 5 the day it came out. Have used it since, almost a year and a half, and will sell it next week for exactly what I paid for it including tax. Try doing that with any of those shitty android phones.

That little exclamation is for the adblock telling me to adjust settings. The hospital has the damn sign in shite for the WiFi.

2 bars are because I work behind lead walls.

Get of textras nuts. I like it.

For some reason, on my Macs chrome fails to render correctly more often than Safari. I've uninstalled, upgraded, tried everything I can figure out, but Chrome screws up pretty regularly for me. Work and home. Not sure what the deal is.

One thing I have noticed personally is that a LOT of phones cram in unpolished or inconsequential features just to say they have it.

For instance, the other day we were talking about cell phone tech and someone with an new Samsung phone was going on about how biometric authentication wasn't really worth that much and she took the time to demonstrate it to me.

Took 4 attempts to do it.

iPhone one almost never ever gives me problems.

But the lead in was the thought that they were about the same in functionality because they both "had it."

Don't misunderstand, I am not a fanboy who is saying that features are only worth having till Apple deems us worthy of having it.

But I think that is a point that is getting lost in all of these "feature comparison" bullet points.

Take Quad-HD: it was probably held off less for a "stringing people along" (although that is definitely part), and more because it would have eaten up budget of the target price for something that doesn't add a lot to the phone.

3rd party estimates are that you need to be viewing a screen by less than ~6 inches at these sizes to see a difference between 1080p and QuadHD.

And this was sourced months ago FWIW:
