Changes to OneDrive

We want to let you know about some upcoming changes to OneDrive. On July 27, 2016, the amount of storage that comes with OneDrive will change from 15 GB to 5 GB. We are also discontinuing the 15 GB camera roll bonus. You can learn more at our FAQ.

As you know, the amount of storage that comes with most OneDrive accounts is changing from 15 GB to 5 GB. You previously confirmed your desire to keep your 15 GB of free storage (and the 15 GB camera roll bonus if you have it).* As a result, your account will not be affected by these changes. We also want to extend an offer that we are making available to users who are close to or will be over the new storage limits. You can claim a free one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal.** This subscription includes 1 TB of OneDrive storage.

you trash MSFT for reducing storage and then say you are getting rid of Google and going to MSFT. Seems counter-intuitive, but whatever floats your boat.

Why worry about a 10GB reduction when you get 1TB for free anyway?

Looks like MS is just pushing people to get hooked on Office instead of just using them as another Dropbox. They're not doing it wrong at all.

I actually like Microsoft but I refuse to join the subscription wave.

Frack them for nuking my one drive and SUPER FRACK them for getting rid of camera roll when I bought a god damn phone from those assclowns.

Is this a new story or the old one from last year which they sort of backed off of?

I can't find anything new talking about changes and I appear to have 30GB on my onedrive account.

Its not even that...They sent out the emails saying it would go from 15-5 unless you replied..I replied, hence the one you see where it says I have the 15+ 1Tb if needed

I think back when they made the announcement, they took so much heat that they backed off if you clicked on some promotional link.

I can't remember if I did it or not.

There is no action you need to take, because your OneDrive account is currently below the new storage limits. Even though you aren't currently affected, we want to keep you updated on all important changes to OneDrive. If you'd like to check your account, you can visit the Storage page.

We realize these are big changes to a service you rely on. We want to apologize for any inconvenience they may cause you. We made a difficult decision, but it's one that will let us sustainably operate OneDrive into the future.

Thank you for using OneDrive.

That was announced last year. The initial heat spooked them so they created a promotion to keep your 15GB not sure about the camera roll.

I can't remember if I clicked on the link or not. I actually don't take piles of pictures and have less than 1gb on the site but it still pisses me off.

Especially since I've owned two of their damn phones.

I haven't received the email yet so I might have clicked the promotion to continue my 15 + 15.

I may have missed the original email last year. My live/Hotmail/outlook accounts are mostly throw away anyway.
