I have a Samsung 32" LCD that I bought years ago (I can post more specifics on it if necessary). I don't know if it got struck by lightning or something, but anything that's supposed to be black has a blue-ish green-ish tint to it. If I'm on an input with no signal, it's straight up this color where ordinarily I'd have a black screen:

So I'm trying to figure out if this is something worth fixing or my TV just needs to be scrapped. I've tried calling a few TV places in the area and nobody is open, I guess.

TIA

save u a bunch of drama

go to best buy or costco, then dump the fried set

now you're done.

it's NOT cost effective to repair.....forget it

Since it's a blue/green hue maybe it has something to do with creating reds. Not sure if it would be a mobo or display issue.

I was going to say it's not necessarily old, but that's relative with electronics, I'm sure. I think it's at least 6 years old.

Before you throw the baby out with the bathwater have you tried switching HDMI inputs on the tv and trying a fresh cable?

Might as well make sure it's the entire tv that is bad and not just one of the inputs before you toss it.

Is it just black, or does it affect grays and other colors?

I switched HDMI cables and inputs, and nothing helped. And it's just black. Grey shows up fine.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

I would guess the panel is fine then, and one of the boards is to blame. Have you tried googling your model number and problem?
