Wollensak 3M high end Dolby 8 track tape player. It was beautiful, it was expensive, my friends were in awe. There was no better device to squeeze every ounce of High Fidelity out of an 8 track ( )
It was DOA cause shortly around then Pioneer came out with the Super Tuner car Cassette radio.
Car Cassette industry exploded, everyone started buying cassette decks for the house and 8 track died over night...
Sold the Wollensak on Ebay last year.

I had a newton in 1993 or so... Amazing it took almost 15 years from then for the iPhone to appear.

I have a google tv
Same here. I bought mine right when they dropped the price to $99. I actually really liked it and used it often until I moved. I bought all smart TVs for my new house and the Google TV has been in the closet since. It should be noted that that the Chromecast was announced about a month or so after I moved and purchased all the new TVs.

I had a 3DO too. It was short lived, but the FIFA game for it was awesome. I kept trying to get my parents to buy me one of the adult games.

Does not have to be the worst purchase but something you bought that many other people never did ie. Laser Disc.
I listed the laser disc player on the other thread.
I'll repost here.
I also had the Sega x32 or whatever it was called.
I guess I gave these 2 beauties the kiss of death!

I had this thing. Pretty cool in that you could record video directly from the TV. But at the end of the day it was a piece of junk

Toshiba Gigabeat S
Got this thing because I purposely didn't want an Ipod and it was perfect for about a year until the harddrive quit and it became a shiny paperweight

Didn't really purchase it, but I was all up in this as a beta / dev guy back in the day...

Was I the only person that owned one of these bad boys?

I bought a PSP when it first came out when I was young.

Zenith Space Command TV. What made it awesome was it had a built in speaker phone so you could make or receive calls from the TV. No one had ever heard of anything like it. So the fact that you could only understand 3-4 out of every 10 words was irrelevant! everyone would trip out.
You can see the telephone buttons on the remote.

I bought a 80gb MS Zune b/c even back then I wanted nothing to do with Apple. I'm convinced the Zune was the better device but the sheeple had already been brainwashed. I still have my Zune and use it daily in my office.

I had the first gen Zune. I prefered it to iPods but I guess I was one of the few.

I am really, really good at buying tech that nobody else wants. It started early:
And only got worse from there:
Currently, this is my phone, which I love and nobody else does:
