here in nashville at ijunkez yesterday. just curious what the going rate is in other places.

given what a PITA it is to do this yourself, if the screen costs $25-$30 online i have no problem paying another $40-$50 to have a professional replace it.

the guy was done in 15 minutes.

Takes half an hour tops and is really simple once you've done it a couple times. I charged people $20 plus supplies to do it, but I only do it for family/friends.

That sounds about right at $70 or so. I think a 5/5s was around $90 when I had my 6 screen replaced about 4 months ago (which was $130).

You automate your whole house, but changing a screen is too much?

if she was breaking it on a weekly basis i might consider learning how but yes, its too much for a one-time repair.

That actually makes sense. He automates his home because he doesn't like to do simple things.

ill be changing the screen on a 6 tonight. it was $28 on amazon.

It's basically just 15-20 tiny screws. It's probably a 2/10 diy difficulty level.

the hardest part is keeping the tiny screw on the end of your screwdriver.

A year ago I'd spend 100 bucks to get my 5 screen replaced. Has to get it replaced 4-5 times in 6 months cause I kept on dropping the motherfricker

damn, iPhones have cheap screens. I changed my own on my old Motorola Razr in 2012 (last screen I had that broke) and it cost me $260 for the screen alone on ebay.
