While I agree with you that anyone that buys a Mac these days is insane...to compare it to an Acer Chromebook is either stupid...disingenuous...or both.

I have a Macbook air running windows using Parallels. Paying extra to have it work with phone, iPad and the apple environment is worth it, not to mention the form factor is much better quality than a $200 Chromebook. Chromebook and macbook are apples and oranges.

Wait until that computer slows down due to all the crapware on it. Also, have fun paying for antivirus and firewall software.

Macs cost a lot upfront, but they last for years and don't have tons of crapware on them. Sorry youa dn your friend are cheap and not OT ballers.

I just buy a new state of the art computer every 6 months. Sorry you're poor and have to hope your MacBook lasts years.

If you don't run that on your Mac you'll get virues and ransomware quicker than Windows 10.

The worst part of a Mac....the hardware is top notch without a doubt.

I've been using the same MacBook Pro since 2009. Only problem is that my screen is dented on the bottom, but that is my fault. Love my Mac.

This stuff is LESS of a problem for Chromebooks than it is for Macs.

I absolutely hate Windows. So many countless hours of work have been lost on shitty business and personal PC's.

ETA: I've yet to try a Chromebook, but based on what I've read it won't meet my needs.

I recently replaced my late 2008 model MacBook that I bought spring of 2009. The processor finally can't efficiently run certain applications that I use regularly.

You realize that Macs don't run some super special Apple processor right?

I think he was saying that his old late 2008 MacBook with a Core 2 Duo was too obsolete to run the applications he needed these days, crediting the longevity of his machine that he hadn't needed to replace it.

You do realize that the operating system is in control of managing processor resources right?

One advantage of running macOS is not having bugs that ruin processor resources like this
