My Google Nexus 5X bootlooped back in January and I'd been looking for a good replacement phone this whole time. Was basically stuck between Galaxy S7(was waiting for price to drop), Moto G5 Plus(camera sucks). and Honor 8(heard EMUI sucked). Well Amazon had the Honor 8 for $260 this past Sunday and I figured for that price I may as well give it a shot. I'm glad I did. I've never owned a phone this nice before. The build quality is amazing! The fingerprint reader is the fastest I've ever used. I love that it has expandable memory with micro SD slot(something I wish most phones still offered). The battery life has been the best I've ever experienced too. I'm at 75% by 10pm(and that's with getting up at 6am and moderate usage throughout the day-stuff like FB, texting, checking TD etc) And EMUI? Not nearly as bad as I thought. It's definitely no worse than Touchwiz and in a lot of ways I think it's better. I don't even notice it to be honest.

Just wanted to throw this out there in case someone else was looking for a really nice phone for about $300(Amazon has it for $299 now). It's definitely flagship level for sure.

It's an all glass phone, so it is slippery, but it's beautiful.

i get you're making fun of me, but coming from 2 Nexus devices that were plastic and not all that great other than getting the latest version of Android first, this thing blew me away. Guess that's what happens when your not used to a flagship level phone.

I don't have any Chinese spyware on my phone. Just googled this issue and while it has happened(not on the Honor btw, but on Blu), it's not prevalent and I checked my phone. I'm all good. Don't regret buying this at all as it's an awesome phone.

Cant speak for manufacturers but I can guarantee you all of your measurement data (which is sent damn near every second) can and will be called up by the NSA if you are doing something they have interest in. I can also say it's not software on the phone lol...

The Moto g5 plus' camera doesn't suck, it's average, above average for a non flagship, and very good for sub $250

What are the Chinese gonna do with my information? They gonna put pics of my dick in the "large cock" section of their porn sites?

I seriously considered the G5 Plus as I do usually like Motorola phones(my backup phone is a Moto X), but the camera on the Honor 8 is significantly better than that of the G5 Plus not to mention processor and chipset, and it only cost $260. The Moto G5 Plus is a great phone though, especially for the price. I just really hate the design Lenovo went with. That camera bump?
