Only thing to do different is instead of grabbing the gotham XBMC file get the TVMC files from here and be sure to install both the tvmcgotham.apk and settings.apk files that come with it so you get all the channels pre-installed.
Thank you Sir!
I installed it exactly like the video initially recommended. I then saw your post and did the TVMC which is much easier to use. I can't wait to begin exploring.

No problem
I noticed that on ebay sticks with tvmc installed are going for $75-$100, gotta love TD for all the good info available here, just glad I can contribute.

I have the fire tv box. I noticed there is a USB port. Can I plug in an external hard drive and play my own movies through it?

I think it has to be rooted for native use, but should work through XBMC

I don't have the box, so can't answer that, but if you installed the xbmc software it should manage and play any media if your drive is on the same network. I'm about to connect a network drive to my router, will report back how it works out.

Thank you my friend. Works great
Do you have to go to settings- Applications-Enter Pin- Manage All Installed Applications-TVMC- Launch Application every time or can it be added to the app library?

I would much rather have a stand alone item then one that requires a phone to use. So far I would rank them as Roku stick>firestick>chromecast, but like most things, it is all a matter of opinion.
I'm the opposite. I love the ease of the chromecast with my android.
Roku stick is so slow and has been a huge disappointment. Trying the firestick tonight
Does anyone know if they have one that works on hotel internet?

Thanks for the llama link! It worked perfectly, I attached it to the all recipe app and it stays in my recent tray now.

The below link will show you how to change the artwork to either xbmc or kodi logos that shows up on your home screen
LINK
* you have to use adbfire version 1.12 for it to work (current version is 1.14). LINK

I used the version 1.14 to sideload Llama and then just followed the same instructions listed above to tell it to launch TVMC whenever I click on the recipe app.

where is the settings.apk?
I can't figure out how to install any repositories on this bitch...
I can't get TVMC to finish initial configuration, however, I can get the available add-ons to work so I guess it worked.
