I have Uverse now and considering switching to DirectTV as it's about $60 cheaper per month. Has anyone made the switch and how do you like it?

I switched and there's not much difference. The major downside is DirecTV goes out during bad weather usually.

It's like asking would you prefer to being shot if your left foot or your right foot.

I switched from Uverse to DTV

Saving about $40/mo for 2 years. Only problem I'm having with DTV is that about every 10th time I turn the TV on, I get an error message saying "Resolution Not Supported". I have to restart the Genie which takes about 5 minutes for it to go away. I read that there isn't much you can do about it if you are using an HDMI cable, and that it doesn't happen to everyone.

Try going to menu>settings>display>tv resolutions and only check the 720p, 1080i, & 1080p resolutions on your Directv DVR. Set Native to off in the video option of the display menu.

FWIW AT&T is one of my clients and they are phasing out Uverse TV and will longer be making any updated equipment as of last Spring.

All of their future TV investments will be with DIRECTV and DIRECTV now, which is the new streaming only service launching next month(similar to sling tv).

They are bending over backwards to get people to switch from Uverse to DTV, so you will get sweet deals. it costs the company 30% less in government/programming fees for a customer on DTV vs Uverse TV. that and they want to free up the internet lines for the gigapower rollout nationwide

DIRECTV will be supporting the 4k launch, and the new boxes(and current with updates), will be able to support the integrated solutions they have coming out

Went from DTV to UVerse last year for lower rates and a $150 gift card. Switched back a few months ago - again lowered rates and a $200 gift card. I don't see a huge difference in service between the two now, but UVerse is being phased out - so they won't be making any further improvements to it.
