I'm still at 50-60 for premier out here in Central. I wonder if it's hit here yet, and if I need to call them to have my modem reprovisioned (I bought my own instead of renting for them, so that may have something to do with it).

Great, I love calling Cox.

I gave my address to the chat-bot and they said upgrades would begin today...

I have my own modem too, and I was fine after a reset this am. The bump in speeds definitely happened last night because I had to reset my modem/router this morning because I had no WiFi signal. Reset and was hitting 60 down baw!!

I noticed my connection dropped twice last night, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's where the bump came from.

I am with Eatel and I am hopeful they respond to Cox's latest offering.

This is my wireless result.

My speeds do not fluctuate. I get 50 down and 25 up anytime.

Low up means less sharing...

After a little router/modem reset, I'm still stuck in the 50-60 range

Chatbot says I should be upgraded now, but I'm not seeing it, even after a modem/router reset, as well as a "refresh" from their end, which I think is just an easy out for them to disconnect the chat.

Yep, I'm using cox's support e-mail for definitive answer. Don't see why I shouldn't be getting the right speeds unless they aren't available here yet. Or my modem needs yet another firmware upgrade.

You do realize that you have to sign up for double speed, right?

It's $5/month for 6 months and then $10/month after.

That was a promo they were running 2 or 3 months ago. The current doubling (for 25 & 50) is automatic

I'm running a few more speed tests, and I'm now seeing this short (about 1 second) burst of speeds around 120 but then it quickly goes back down to my normal 50-60

That is exactly what I'm seeing as well. It ramps up to 100+ for a second, then creeps back down until the test finishes off at around 58mbps.

Docsis 2.0 is capable of more like 38mbps realistically, but it will almost always be less if you're on a node with a lot of subscribers. Docsis 2.0 can only do one channel at a time, so if that channel is clogged, you're screwed. You need to upgrade.
