Is this even possible? Also, is there anywhere to buy Office cheap too that's somewhat reliable?

Plenty of options for Both. If you don't need MS Office though, give something like LibreOffice a try before sinking money into features you don't need.

Haha. Yes. Just juggling a dozen things right now and figured I'd drop it here for a little assistance.

On another side note, I heard before that buying a new computer with Win 8 and trying to put Windows 7 on it would be a problem due to driver issues. Is this still the case?

Thanks. Office is for someone else. I just use Google docs myself.

Everywhere.

Or you could go pirate and download Win 7 ISO and couple it with w7lxe activator.

Depends on the hardware in the computer. For me, I'd leave Win 8 alone and just install Classic Shell.

How complicated is that?

I installed windows on an old machine after the hard crapped out, and it won't recognize my old key

I'm tired of the popups

Don't even need to download an activator for it these days. Torrent an All-in-One copy that's preactivated (i.e., automates the process during the install) and throw it on a USB drive.

Can't remember the last time I purchased software that wasn't a game.

Speaking of which, has Win 8.1 piracy made any progress, or is it still limited to 6-month activation?

But yeah anyways, piracy bad, no no no no...........

If you know any LSU students, they have access to a free download of Windows 7.

Oh, let me rephrase:

SWIM can't remember the last time SWIM purchased software that wasn't a game.

I looked into this the other day and it seems to be an "upgrade". Would this work on a brand new install?

I think you have to be able to reactivate them every so often by logging into LSU's system now though.
