The note 6 (prolly renamed note 7 to allign with the galaxy devices) will launch on Aug. 2. I would think it would be best to wait until then to either see what improvements are made and maybe there will be a price drop on the 5's

The Note 5 is cool, but does have some draw backs. No sd memory slot, and I prefer my quad hd panels to be powered by the snapdragon 820.

The 820 was a great bounce back for Qualcomm after the 810 flopped.

I would wait for the next Note especailly if it has the 821.

Supposedly August 2nd is the date, after looking I doubt the Note 5 price will come down.

Next-gen release pretty much guarantees a market value decrease in the previous gen. The retailers may stubbornly hold firm, but I bet you'll have your pick of cheap used/refurb Note 5s saturating the various resell marketplaces in August.

After a year my battery has went to complete shite. I have to keep the screen brightness at 10%.

That sucks. I have had mine for a year, and battery is still doing great.

Can't you just buy a new battery on Android phones?

Gotcha. I've only ever used the Note 2 and you could pull the back off that one and switch the batteries.

I wish all phones would come with interchangeable batteries.

I'm waiting for the Note 7. It's only 2 weeks away and will be a better device. Sounds like base storage will be 64gb, and upwards of 256gb with sd slot again.

Battery life scares me. Any hard details about that yet?

Some rumors of a bump up to a 4000mAh battery, but we shall see.

I think I'm all in within a month or two of release. I am paid off on my Note4 and in the last 6 months the battery life has gone to shite, dropping about 5% a minute until 50% then it just dies. It's time for something that works.

Doubt it...sounds like a dual edge display with metal back that won't be removable.

I just got 2 new Anker batteries and external battery charger for $30 for my note 4. Batteries are kinda like windshield wipers, you don't really know how bad yours are until you get new ones

I just got one last week. Best buy had a deal w/Verizon where if you upgrade to it, you got a 200.00 best buy gift card. So far the battery life is awesome compared to the LG3 I had before it. I had a Galaxy 5 before that.

My only complaint is that it doesn't have an IR blaster. I loved being able to control my bedroom TV with my smart phone. Other than that, it's been great.
