Just got an email from AT&T that Gigapower is now available in my neighborhood. Anyone here have it? Any idea on the cost or if the speeds are reliably fast? Currently have their highest tier and its painfully slow. Was considering switching when my promotional period was up.

I just got the same email. My costs are quoted at 80 for 300Mbps and 110 for 1Gbps.

I called in and was told it was $135 a month for 1 Gbps without discount. If you consent to them storing all of your search terms and history they drop it to $105. Seems steep, wish I got the max speeds that I should be getting now.

Right now I don't see a need past 100Mbps at my house.

We’re sorry that AT&T GigaPower isn’t available, but you can get other AT&T services: Internet Up to 18Mbps

I have it.

300 Mbps

I think I pay 80$ a month, but I have it bundled with Uverse cable.

I like it.

Parts of Kenner, Metairie and Laplace will be getting gigapower starting around July 15th. I wish I knew specific areas but I was only given the broad strokes. Several members of my team have started fiber training already and have offloaded all of their DirecTV equipment from their vans as they will no longer be doing uverse and DirecTV jobs. It will be very small pockets, especially at first. I think something like 3,000 living units will be live at the start between those areas.

ATT are such derelicts

If they werent such dickjaws, they could crush Satellite and the cable companies, but they just have to always act and treat people like Att always has.

I mean c'mon, $60 for 45meg. lol I pay $39 for 100ish from Charter. And it should go up to 200meg once they are done with upgrades in area. extra 100meg, free.

Like i said, Att is such a dickjaw company

I wish I knew. I have seen the fiber being pulled down airline in Laplace, although not sure which neoghborhood is getting it. There is already a subdivision in laplace with fiber to the prem but they have been capped at uverse speeds for some crazy reason. That will probably change real soon. I have not seen any work in Kenner. It has to be happening, I just haven't seen it .

It's funny how lack of competition gets consumers screwed on prices every time. Since Google Fiber is here full gigabit when bundled with cable is $70 a month with ATT

I don't have gigs power, but if it's anything like Uverse, you'll get promised speeds up to 80 Mbps and actually get about 20-25

Fibre actually doesn't work like that...

ATT is the worst and Gigapower is pointless and unreliable. I got more reliable service from Time Warner and 50Mb is more than pretty much any household needs or can use.

Good luck when you inevitably need to call billing or technical support.

That's $30 more than what it's going for here in NC. Still isn't worth it to me.

I thought hard about Gigapower, but I'm not willing to sell my soul for the $30 discount and at the higher price it's not worth it.

This must be who is marking and burying in my neighborhood. Been trying to figure out who it is.

Not super impressed with the pricing and my Comcast is solid and faster than what I pay so it's a tough call.

I would accept the discount rate and let them acquire whatever data they want. I don't believe they will know your google searches if you access google via https and that goes for any site. They are already capturing the data anyway so take the lower price.
