Very interested in the Ultra model. A bit disappointed that Oceanic+ app for diving only includes snorkeling for free. For the SCUBA version it's $80 annually (or $10 a month, or $5/day.)

That kind of sucks.

Nadda. Well, at least not when I last replied to you maybe an hour or 2 ago.

Like you just stated you have to switch watches out based on what you need.

No apple watch is going to look like a luxury mechanical watch

All the sports/activity watches are ugly. They have no soul.

Also, Garmin watches displays look like shite compared to appl

Garmin has an AMOLED on the Epix and it can get to 14 days. Apple could have done it better.

I might have been a bit harsh on the Ultra but I just hate that the increase in battery life is most likely due to it being a bigger watch. Why haven't they figured out the battery part?

Can't imagine what the ultra will look like in work settings.

TBH that's an undervalued part of the appeal of Apple devices for many. They get such widespread adoption by the professional class that they quickly become commonplace and "appropriate" in any setting.

Hence a square weird looking watch with rubber band, even worn with a bespoke suit, will get zero strange looks in any business setting and can be seen on the wrist of billionaires and CEOs all over the country.

Hence ugly white earphones with sticks on them are appropriate in the same way and in the same settings.

Jury is obviously out on whether the ultra will get that level of adoption/treatment, but it's an advantage other brands just do not have.

So no new iPads? Me and the wife both need new ones and were waiting to see what was going to be new. Guess we’ll go to the Apple store this weekend and look at the current offerings.

That Apple watch ultra is probably the ugliest watch I've seen in a long time.

No new iPads this event. I think the last new iPad was the one that got the m1 chip.

Really? I don't mind it all that much. It looks like a square silver garmin to me. I generally like big bulky watches (minus gshocks) though.

Do you find Suunto's good looking? It's basically a square silver suunto.

There will likely be another event in October if you can wait the month (not sure on your timing)

Ipad's and macs are usually in the spring, fall is always iphone. They just got the m1 this year, so i don't think there will be much, if any, upgrades for a while FYI.

My X was getting pretty sluggish, so I snagged the 14 Pro 512GB in Space Black.

Upgraded from 12 pro to 14 pro. Hard to pass on it at $2.78/month.

TigerGMan or anyone, did y'all get the apple watch ultra?
I'm so tempted to pull the trigger and do the monthly payments on to my apple card.

Which, side question, how does that work? If I have a 500$ balance on my Apple Card and I do the monthly payments at like 30$ a month for the watch BUT I still have 100$ balance the next month, any ideas on how that works? Hope that made sense...
