If so what are your thoughts? Orr does anyone use a different variation? TIA

Have a nest. It's great for lazy people and forgetful people. I got it half off through my work, but I would have gone with Honeywell otherwise. Both basically do the same thing.
I do like the look of a nest though.

I have one for several years now and love it. I'm sure there are others now that will do the same thing but the nest looks the best IMO.

At $70ish on amazon Marketplace the touchscreen Honeywell is the correct answer.

Got it for free for signing up with a direct energy company.
I like it, but I really don't think I know how to utilize it fully.

Have the Nest and really like it. My electric bill dropped by $75/month.

Any tips/tricks?
I kinda just set it up and let it go. I'm not exactly sure what modes/options to enable to make it most efficient.

It is really intuitive. Look at all of the leaf functions. Just about all of them are appropriate for everyone. The key is letting it learn your schedule and what temps you like and setting floors and ceilings that you can live with. When it has fully absorbed all of your information that it will then use for marketing purposes, you'll find that it works really well. Kicks on the AC about an hour before you get home. Good stuff.

I had a Honeywell programable that crapped out so I decided to replace both thermostats with Nests. They were very easy to install. This was one of the main draws for me. They also look great and are much more convenient than the programable ones.
I can change the temp from the couch or work. It learns when I am gone and when I am home. No need to go through the hassle of reprogramming.

Which one? I'm looking to replace my thermostat.

I have two thermostats, one for the master bedroom. Otherwise, I'd buy a nest...I just don't want to buy 2.

I got a Honeywell for the wifi. No idea about cost savings but love controlling it from my iPad/iPhone while in bed or watching TV.

Nest has WiFi abilities as well. Adjusting on the fly is awesome.

Check out amazon marketplace below that link. Cheapest price is around $79 at the moment.
Lowe's and home depot have it for $150.
I can vouch for the ms world 3 seller. I've bought 4 units from him.

I went from a normal ole thermostat, and my summer electricity went from $230 to about $180. But any programmable thermostat would have done the same for me. I like that I can change the temperature from bed, and I love that I can log in from anywhere and cut it on or off. We actually went on vacation last month and I left it running for 2 days. Was able to log in and save myself six days of AC when I remembered.

I read quite a few reviews and got this one.
excellent app for iphone/ipad
very easy scheduling
very easy to install and set up
you realize the $70 LCD touchscreen uses the exact same app and everything is identical to that unit except that has a fancier display.
honeywell 'stats are tanks and because so many commerical buildings use these touchscreens there is always a plentiful supply of new units never installed on amazon & stuff for around $70.
its all you need since you'll do 99% of the controll & scheduling from your phone. why pay for a color LCD that just sits on your wall?
Plus I needed 2 so $140 >>> $350+

Based on your recommendation in another thread I ordered one of these from this seller. I second the recommendation. Only thing this one doesn't have is capability to connect to a home automation hub of that is something you are interested in, or ability to auto-cycle fans on a schedule to circulate air without A/C or heat.
For what I bought it for it works great and the app works well.

I have a Nest. I like it alot. Although I've had to disable the auto- schedule and auto-away, it tends to jack with it too much. I like it because I have a schedule set during the week and I don't have to worry about it. If I need to change it, pull out my phone, boom.
It has many other great feature but I'll be the first one to admit that most any other smart thermostat can do these same things. Honestly, it just looks and acts like a product that Apple would have made, and I love my Apple overlords.
