I haven't been this jaded on Liverpool since Hodgson. Seriously. This may be worse.

Its not worse lol. I remember those days like a terrible nightmare. There's just no one available to replace Brendan with. Time to get behind him because nothing will be accomplished without the backing of everyone.

Not until the lean though....

Look, he'll be expensive relative to wages and signing bonus, but any time you get a guy that instantly slides into your starting XI, capable at multiple positions, on a "free", is a good thing.

I do wonder how our midfield will set up, and in exactly what system. I still strongly believe we need the best CDM that is willing to come to us.

So, Ive come to terms with the fact that BR is still here, by convincing myself that we talked to Klopp and he really wanted the sabbatical. So, we decided that we didn't want to start another "project," knowing that if BR doesn't right the ship quick, Klopp is on speed dial... I don't care if it's the truth or not.

I still think BR has much to offer, so I hope he gets back the hunger and humility he showed early on with the club... and checks the ego at the door.. I have no problem with him being here for years, if he proves his worth. the early transfer targets are less than inspiring, so we shall see!

I really like the Milner signing. I guess I'm ok with Ings if we ship out Borini and his fee helps pay for Ings.

Outside of that we could still use a couple of instant impact players, probably a Striker and DM but I don't know if Rodgers views DM as a huge need if Lucas stays and Can plays there more often.

Nonetheless, I think we can all agree we have enough players with potential and we need players who can come in and are immediate upgrades on what we have.

I like Milner... and Im kk with Ings, but neither make me say we're going to compete for top 4...

Well - Milner helps - I think any signing we make where you can say that the player will be part of our first XI l, it means it improves our squad and gets us closer it the top teams.

We need to shoot for three or so more guys this window that instantly improve our first XI. Not depth or projects or hopes. Guys that come right in immediately.

Milner is no Joe Cole signing.

He's a good veteran replacement in midfield for Gerrard. We need that and his versatility. Henderson was way too inconsistent last year to be fully relied on.

I'd have to know the formation and who is leaving, but IMO, Milners value is in his versatility (and quality), but he wasn't at a position of the most need... He essentially fills the same midfield role as Hendo to me... Or even Can, unless BR sees him as the DM of the future.

Don't get me wrong, I love him... Wanted him when he left Villa... But he ain't getting us 4th. If he's the "main" signing this summer, I have huge reservations...

Absolutely but I like the thought of a midfield 3 of Hendo, Milner, and Can. They could cover a lot of ground

I was thinking this morning about how high I was after the friendly against Dortmund at the beginning of the year. It wasn't their A team but it wasn't a bad squad and we were picking them apart. We had zero idea about what was coming our way this year. Obviously sturridges injury hurt big time.

I don't think its a coincidence that our best stretch came with sterling as a striker. We clearly need speed up top to be dynamic and having zero options as natural strikers with speed behind Sturridge on the squad was our biggest failure and reason for the season to play out the way it did.

Pascoe and Marsh both sacked? I guess they told BR there needed to be some changes but surprised he let his best bud go.

And no more pics of CP rockin shorts in 40 degree weather to show off his calves

Multiple shitty English sources saying both are headed out the door but I tend to think it's true because they are all saying the same thing.

I haven't read anything about Pascoe, but I saw where Marsh's contract expired and he wasn't retained...

They could all go, for all I care... BR needs to try anything and everything to save his job IMO. It could have also been a mandate per his season ending review..

Unbelievable that people are saying he is throwing them under the bus. I don't think it's that at all. Brendan should try everything and that starts with more experience in the backroom. Marsh and Pascoe had only been in prem for 1 year before Brendan brought them up.
