Well, you don't know that.

Not saying you're wrong though.

Clyne would be decent business.

In a few days we should know about ings and possibly Milner. Ings wants his future decided before the euro tournament.

I will say this - I would be disappointed if we brought in several guys and then fired Rodgers. Klopp or whoever may not be able to work with whoever we bring in and the disjointed and amateur nature of the operation of the club would continue.

One of the things I wanted from Rodgers was an actual commitment to a playing style and to be all in for that style. the transfers and constant tactical flips mid game show we are not doing that.

I think the guys you mention would fit almost any style of play... Clyne is just solid, Milner is so versatile (and free, though high wages)... Ings doesn't inspire me, but as a 3rd choice and cheap... I'm ok, I guess...

Benteke is the one I'm on the fence with... Some people make him out to be Andy Carroll 2.0, but I think he's much better than that... But he does feed off of crosses... At £30mm + I think it would be bad... At £20mm... If we can't get anyone better... I dunno

To you other point, in regard to his tactics and transfers... It baffles me after year 3 and £200mm + spent... We have to play so many people out of position... I don't mind the tactical shifts during the game, if it calls for it... But when he does it and puts square pegs in round holes, thats what drives me crazy!

I have a Marine friend of mine who lives in London and he follows the game quite intently. I hadn't talked to him in about 2 months but I called him yesterday and voiced my displeasure on how we ended the season. He claimed that BR is in no way "safe". He was saying that the meetings this week won't be pretty and that the word is that Klopp would take the job if offered. I still think he gets another year but I just wanted to pass that info on to you. My guy is not an LFC supporter and I kind of wish I wouldn't have heard that since I've resigned myself to another year or half a year with Rodgers.

I almost wished I hadn't posted that last one. It's exhausting with the different manager/ player rumors happening at this time and I don't like contributing more of it to this site. The only reason I did was the source of the information is a serious individual who wouldn't pass on crap to me after some of the shite we've been through together. Take it for what it's worth boys.

Thats basically what Jonathan Norcroft is saying...

LFC assessing manager options before season review. Klopp one of them. Rodgers may v well survive but LFC seeing who's out there.

I mean the season has been over for a week and FSG haven't publicly come out and backed him.. I gotta think that says something..

And haven't come out and backed him when there is doubt swirling around him everywhere. I think the fact that Klopp is out there and seems very interested is a huge part of the process.

After the season we've just had, they'd be silly not to sound out Klopp... Managers like him don't come available every year, especially with many of the bigger clubs stable at the top...

Some reports are saying we've activated Vietto's buyout clause, which is relatively cheap at ~£14mm.. This would be a good move for us, if true. I like the two other young Argentine strikers more, but Dybala is already going to Juve and Icardi may be out of our league.. He's not without risk, since he's only had one european season and is on the small side, but at that price its a good risk... He may be too expensive or at a bigger club if we wait..

I'd be happy going in to the season with Vietto, Sturridge, Origi and Balotelli (or Ings)...

I really hope we don't spend £30mm on Benteke. He's a good player and could offer us something, but for that price you better be getting a game changer.. Just paying attention to him yesterday and was pretty unimpressed, though I realize the whole team was just shite... If people criticize Balo for his lack of movement, Benteke may be worse...

yep... which is why i feel the longer we wait, the less likely it is to happen, which, IMO, would be a colossal clusterfrick....

it's been 3 years, and we are no better off (and in some cases, actually worse) than we were before.... getting tired of living off of our legacy... the time is now to go out and better our position for the here and now...

klopp - "it makes sense to take a break after 7 intensive years"

Not sure how reliable or true this is, but it's a quote. Of course it could also be a negotiating tactic.

he probably ain't coming to liverpool anyway, but this could form up Rodgers until January at least

He said that, and he has also said that, should the right opportunity arise, he'd take it. His plan is to take a sabbatical until that happens, IF it does.
