Looks like we agreed terms with Bogdan. It's a free so that's a positive, but it would've been nice to get someone a little better to truly push Mignolet as opposed to just being his backup.

I like that we've been busy with little money spent, only Ings's compensatory fee so far. But we have to splash some cash at some point, and I hope it's done intelligently

Lots of rumors that we have agreed with inter for about 16m pounds for kovacic. Plus up to 3 or so in add ons.

I like it in that he's a promising player that has already shown consistent performance at a big league and is a relatively cheap price.

I'm just a bit confused by how many central midfielders we have and will have. Though so many are jack of all trades rather than pure cdm etc.

And I'm not sure how many can play on the flanks for both offense and defense.

We still have several areas of need to be addressed as well.

Particularly guys that can put the ball into the back of the net, and a guy that can manage the club

Klopp and Reus will do

That would be one to be excited about, though its not really a need area IMO..

I'm only 1/2 way joking about the three free signings... I HOPE that these are just the easy ones, help the squad overall, get them out of the way, while we now turn our attention to the bigger fish...

I like Kovacic but yea, still confused on what we'll do without a true DM. I wouldn't be that disappointed though if we closed with Kovacic, Clyne, and a quality striker that fits the system and we don't overpay for (I.e. Not Benteke)

I agree, especially Benteke. The key word is QUALITY.

yeah, I would be okay with Benteke at a price that is probably not realistic.. not thrilled, but okay with it...

The more and more you see Firmino play for Brazil, I'm kinda believing he can play as your main striker... Him and Coutinho link up well, too... He is one we should be able to afford.

I haven't seen him recently with Brazil as the main striker, but I could definitely see him playing just off Sturridge the way Gerrard did with Torres.

Not enthused either, but they're not mutually exclusive. Lets not get too down on ourselves yet. The good thing is all of this has been taken care of early so there's one thing to focus on for the rest of the summer and one thing only. Signing serious players.

That's my take as well. I'm glad to see early movement. Hoping for just a couple of bigger names in the coming weeks.

... in the total of 10 games Sturridge will play this season due to hamstring/quad/pussy injury...

we really need to cut bait with his brittle arse, before the price tag drops too far...

I think his tag is already dropped. Hell we can't sell him now cause he's hurt. The only time would be January. Which most likely he will be hurt for that too so

I hate to say it, but I think you're right. As others have pointed out though, after last season it may be too late.

Rumors picking up steam.

Kovacic to Liverpool looking more likely

Sterling to City looking more likely

In regards to Sterling, they really need homegrown players so I hope we get every bit of the £50m we set his tag at. I wouldn't be disappointed in the least to let him go for that

as useless as he is, i'd dump him for half that.... in all honesty, taking off the red and white glasses, he's not all he's hyped to be.... and his attitude about it all, frick him and his shitty arse agent....

give me guys that want to be part of what we are building, even if it means a season or two of no CL... sucks, but one day, when these youngster get their shite together, we'll be back... oh, we'll be back....

He's 20. The kid is incredible (given that context). Is he 150k a week incredible? Not yet.

provided he has a world class striker to take the attention off him and he can use that speed to make runs behind the defenders, sure....

given that context

i just described his "context".... unfortunately, we don't have any world class strikers, and won't have one for the foreseeable future... we need to sell while the price is high, and demand is strong...
