Supposedly Kopp is taking a minimum 6 month sabbatical... maybe that is what is keeping Rodgers around.

I doubt Ancelotti would want this job, and Rafa is the early favorite to replace Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

I wish I knew more, or at least knew where to read about, what happened last transfer window between Rodgers and the committee. I am hungry to know how that dynamic works (or rather doesn't).

I don't think anyone really knows, Ive seen it talked about from all kinds of angles though...

I think you can look at some guys who seem obvious they were BR wants (Lovren/Lallana) and some that obviously weren't his (Balotelli)

There was strong talk that Ayre had to talk FSG out of firing BR the first year... I gotta believe that if he ends up staying, its because no one worth a shite was willing to take the job.. No offense, but I don't buy that building something horseshite... Not in this day and age.. three years (and £200mm+) is plenty of time to prove something and we're gonna fall further behind..

Even ManUre gave up that pollyanna, let Sir Alex pick his successor bullshite experiment after one season and finishing seventh, missing out on the UCL... They went out and got a big name and dropped an enormous amount of cash... Cause they know it doesn't take long to fade into mediocrity... And they will spend again this summer, because they still aren't good enough to compete for the title...

I know we don't have the same spending power and I'm not asking them to spend what they don't have, but they can try and bring in an upgrade in the manager and director of football.. and go from there..

I dont necessarily believe that Sky report... I'm not sure they know what they are going to do yet.. At least I hope not..

I quit drinking the BR kool aid awhile ago and want him gone as badly as the next guy but I don't see the point in firing him right now if FSG can't bring on someone better. Klopp was clearly never going to happen and neither was/is Ancelotti. I didn't start following Liverpool until 2011/12 but from what I have learned about Benitez I think he would be worthy of getting another go at the job (seems like his failure was more of a result of the board IMO), too bad he is now out of our league if RM is seriously pursuing him.

Tangential: I knew should have known better than to trust BR after they showed on Being Liverpool that he owned a giant portrait of himself.

This is how I have decided to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of Istanbul.

Yup. Just had it done tonight. I had been meaning to get it for a while, and my wife finally mustered the courage to get another one of her own. So today was the day.

Nice. Doesn't look bad. I have a few of my own, and IF I were to get a sports-themed tat (which wouldn't happen), it'd be YNWA. Just not block lettering.

To each their own, though.

if Klopp is available, and we KEEP Rodgers instead of throwing everything at Klopp to get him here, we are fricking retarded....

and it definitely shows me they aren't committed to winning as much as they are to keeping a balanced financial spreadsheet..... to which i say, frick you... if you wanna run with the big boys of the BPL, you gotta spend like the big boys.... it's just a fact.... last year was nice and all, but it seems more like an anomaly, than something we can routinely do with a shitty, egotistical manager...

He should have been fired after that game just on principle.

I don't acre if it seems rash.

6-1 to frickING STOKE is unacceptable.

I'm starting to literally hate BR. frick him, he continues to look like more and more of a POS with his wife shite and having the portrait of himself.

I think that's the problem isn't it? Rodgers ego and smugness and continual we played well in the face of reality. If he didn't say so many stupid things hat came back to bite him - well then it would be easier to tolerate a dip.

I loved that he said we played better in the second half against stoke. Of course we did Brendan - stoke kicked our arse and were coasting out a win. And they still scored just as many as we did in that half.

I don't think we should assume he isn't going be sacked just yet.

I was reading about it... Didn't the same kind of sequence happen to Dalglish? FSG downplayed rumors that he was going to be axed, they did their review, and then afterwards fired him?

Maybe FSG is going to make a change... I just hope they make changes on their side as well (i.e. transfer committee).

With Dalglish it was a "mutual parting of ways." Maybe he realized he wasn't the best man for the job anymore?

I don't think BR has that same perspective

Was it announced that way? Or was that really the circumstances that he left on?

Boston sports clubs generally don't eat their own... Even when someone is fired outright, they typically make it look like everything is hunky-dory.

I think a lot of times when it comes on the heels of a review like that, it's because there is a fundamental disagreement in expectation vs resource. For instance - if they told Rodgers he must win the league and he told them it would take 250m pounds to do it, and they told him he had 50m - well they may come out of the meeting feeling that he isn't their guy.

Sometimes those reviews also reveal that the manager either has no clue how to fix the issue or is incapable of fixing it.

I have a bad feeling this is a shite show from Henry down to Rodgers. I think they got lucky last year with Suarez and a healthy Sturridge, neither which we'll ever see again. I'm not giving up on them (not much choice) I just think the owners and the manager need to figure out how to properly own and manage a club like LFC. I would hope that if Klopp or Rafa were available we would have been begging them to take over. Seeing that both of those choices look to be doing other things then they may have decided to give Chompers another chance. I don't know, this situation just sucks because I have come to generally dislike my manager who seems to have morphed into a total a-hole.

I hope they have a good time, build some comraderie, and come back hungry to work.

Not sure how I feel about bentenke rumors - I see him as a hybrid forward. Not a true holding striker, but also not a true play off the last mans shoulder forward either. I see him as being capable of playing in Rodgers system but also being that "different option" when we need to try different things to break a team down. However- that hybrid mean he's not the best option for Rodgers normal game plan. He wouldn't be my first choice - but on the plus side his premiere league learning curve would be zero. I feel there are cheaper and better options.

On the plus side - I love that he is able to score every other game for a bad offense at villa that, under their former manager, played a style light on the offense. On the negative side, how does he do when the opposition is packed in? He would rarely face that at villa and will face it a lot at Liverpool.

I like Benteke. The most proven guy we could actually land.

And I have no problem with them blowing off some steam. If anything let them band together against Rodgers if he stays around. Make it typical of what Ferguson used to do with his players.
