Yes because it sounds to me like it's probably about 3 times in the last year and a half

Since 2010, Ashely Young is the only international with more assists (5) than Downing (4). Both were selected.

He has been playing better recently. He's a better passer and crosser than Lennon and Johnson.

Fair enough. I know I'm harsh on him but I tried to like him for a year and a half and he finally started to show a little form at the end of that and thanked Villa for continuing to show faith in him and giving him time to find form. then he promised he would stay to thank us for giving him time even if we were relegated. 3 weeks later he turned in a transfer request, don't rate him as a player or a person.

His reputation when we signed him was very different he was considered the scapegoat of the mcclaren era and the biggest criticism from villa fans when we signed him on crutches was that he "played like a pussy" I don't think that has changed.

That England squad doesn't look too impressive. It looks like the same old same old. They do have genuine pace on the wings though. They should play a version of the 4-2-3-1, but I with Barry and Parker in the middle. Rooney should play just off a main striker, with any combo of Walcott/Chamberlain/Young on the wings. That team would be pretty good on counterattacks.

Also, I think Kyle Walker would have been a better option than Johnson, Richards or Jones at RB. He has better positional sense than all three in my opinion.

I believe his omission was due to fitness...

As a Man City fan, I'm laughing hysterically at the Joleon Lescott pick.

He's a good dude, but a horrid center back.

That England backline is terrible, Hodgson isn't the caliber of Capello and doesn't have nearly enough time, the squad's in crisis, and the English media's about to have a month-long gangrape of the squad.

4 of the 5 starters will be the same from all of the qualifiers, Hart, Johnson, Terry and Cole...the 2nd CB was chopped and changed a lot anyway, and it will probably be Cahill as they will be more used to playing with each other through training every day with each other at chelsea...so if anything its better than before

And whats new about that?

As if the media being critical is new to anybody involved with the England set up, something would be wrong if they werent

I think Lescott played well for City this year.

Also, only one player on Russia's team not playing in the Russian Premier League.

Yeah the Russian Premier League is underrated. Russian football as a whole is underrated.

I was surprised to see how highly it was rated on UEFA's coefficient.
