Final tweet: Between the issues Messi brought up at his presser Friday, the potential disaffiliation of AFA from FIFA in the coming hours; Boca and even the national team could be at risk. There is also limbo presidency at their FA. Elections supposedly will be going on midweek should there be no govt of FIFA intervention. There is a chance Copa Lib (Boca) is not played. Also add to that the potential of national team being removed from WCQs.

What the frick have I missed? There have been rumblings of the AFA leaving FIFA?

YouTube comments make me rejoice for the level of mouth breather we have here.

That's a whole 'nother world.

There is an extension for chrome and Firefox that changes all YouTube comments to variations of "herp derp." Overall I think it improves the quality of the site.

Ran out of money???!!! More like stole all the money and stashed it in Liechtenstein. Julio Grondona was an absolute scumbag when he ran the FA.

He just turned 29.Only reason I know is that I have an 8 yo son who loves Messi and he told me about 5 times yesterday.

Mascherano is 32 and the person he replied to was talking about Mascherano. You are right, Messi is 29.

As crazy as this seems from the outside, is there any other option for the players if they want to see change in the right direction?

Messi out. Argentina no longer a threat.

Russia one step closer to winning the WC.

I can't see him retiring from the national team. He still wants to win a world cup, and 2018 will be his last chance, and maybe with the best team Argentina has had in a while.

Meh. Argentina will be fine. Out goes Messi and Benega, and in comes Perreya and Dybala. It's a soccer factory. Dybala could be the best player in the world one day
