Coaches are definitely all knowing and don't make mistakes. Les is certainly better at mental math when it comes to clock management than I am. Domenech is certainly right when he makes his picks for the French team based on astrology signals. Surely he knows something that French fans don't.

The results will happen by eliminating bad attitudes. He wasn't going to start and really wasn't going to change our results positively or negatively.

Exactly why take a 31 year old non factor player.
Because his style is a bit in the Klinsmann mold. Right place, right time. Ugly, but effective (shite goes in off the back of his head, elbow, face, a missed clearance falls at his feet and he buries it, etc.).

Even with shite form, Donovan has by far the best finishing we have. He sends in the best corners. He is fricking flawless on the spot. He is one of the two players the other teams have some fear of.

But the good news is we have Brad fricking Davis. Whoopee! His left foot is so god damn valuable.

so landon has a bad attitude, now?

being honest about not being able to go 90 minutes isn't the same as being samir nasri

then we are going to be fricking butt fricked. we have no creativity on offense on this team without landon and dempsey, so now it's down to dempsey (whose efforts are in question quite often). a statement that landon doesn't impact our team in 2014 is a statement that we are without real hope

Green's impossible to gauge from a form perspective when it comes to club. He plays such a low level of competition, and then when it comes to international play, he had one game where he was terrible and got injured and missed several weeks of play.

I see the point you're trying to make, but that's a totally different scenario. Jurgy had to have promised him a spot in exchange for his switch to the US Federation. That was a decision made for the next 2-3 World Cups.

That's a ridiculous promise to make, on his part, if it is indeed true (and I guess we'll never know).

Besides, Green was already cap tied to us once he made the switch before the game in Arizona.

If you aren't sure you even like soccer, then yes, your attitude is poor.

I have a good feeling about this World Cup. It feels like Euro 2008 when Raul was left out of the Spain squad for Sergio Garcia.

Brad Davis is a quality player who fits a role.

Klinsmann is building a squad from 30 players. It always fits a formulaic process.

You take eight defenders and three goalkeepers. You take three or four center forwards. Etc. etc. You normally take four wide midfielders, almost always one of whom is left-footed.

Brad Davis is essentially José Torres last World Cup. Torres played one shitty half against Slovenia, and Brad Davis will be lucky to get that.

Can't wait for Brad Davis to score on an important free kick in Brazil. Or something along those lines.

So you lie to him to get him over? This is the way the International game works. Former greats are omitted regularly. Unless you were at camp, you have no idea why Donovan's not on the squad.

LD went on a fricking vision quest to see if he still wanted to play last year. He showed up to camp a bit out of shape twice, enough for him to end up subbing on in the Mexico friendly.

Jurgen Klinsmann has never been someone who seems interested in losing. He's also doing a lot to bolster the future. Germans didn't like what he did in Germany before the '06, but they sure loved him after the World Cup. He's also talked about nothing more than going in and treating every match like we can win it.

This decision was made for a reason that is probably well thought out and was discussed time and time again before it happened. It's not like Jurgen just went in a room with a red marker and giggled while he put a big X over LD's name. The outrage is a bit pathetic without knowing details.

He was selected on the squad ahead of Landon Donovan. He better do fricking something noteworthy.

Jurgen's son did on Twitter. It was promptly deleted.

And how did he play for the US team after the vision quest?

It's as if people think he went on hiatus this winter or something.

Timmy Chandler making the roster pisses me off more than anyone. The guy basically gave up on the national team after one game during qualifying, and all of the sudden he's more valuable than guys who actually went through the gauntlet.

He quit, and Jurgen called him back when he realized that Brad Evans might actually start a World Cup game.

I don't get why he's catching some much flack for this.

Had he just kept playing he would have just kept going through the motions. IMO, he deserved the sabbatical.
