Well you should be mad at Landon for not giving his all. His time has passed. He's not done well in the MLS this season, he almost quit last season, and he says he can't go 100%. This is about an attitude change. Nobody is safe ever. Go hard or go home. I want my USA team to give 100% and fight like hell. Not question whether they want to play.

It's simple man.

Klinsman wanted a fit team.
Landon is and will not be fit.
He was cut.

End of story.

Beginning of another story.

I used to think soccer followers were level headed, but you guys are acting like those damn lunatics on the rant

Wondo simply scores goals when he puts on that USMNT kit. Better him than Boyd, I guess...Donovan wasn't going to play striker.

This is the most maniacal thing Klinsmann could have ever done. His level of vanity must be so high that it would make a Kardashian midly disgusted.

There is no way there are 22 players in the US who are better than Donovan at soccer.

And if anyone thinks a guy who listens to fricking 5 for Fighting to pump himself up is a petulant influence in the locker room like Tevez or Nasri, I don't even know where to begin.

Look, Brad Davis over Donovan doesn't make 100 percent sense, but Donovan wasn't going to be a sure fire starter in Brazil.

Getting fired on the spot over a sub? Nostalgia is a powerful thing, I guess.

It was never Wondo vs. Donovan. It was Wondo vs. Boyd. Go with the poacher.

I am having nightmares right now of Brad Davis on the left flank in the WC. Oh God.

Why are we so upset about a guy who said he's not even sure he likes soccer anymore?

If a guy gets 6 goals and 7 assists in 8 games after saying he's not sure if he likes soccer anymore, I don't really care. This is the type of logic that leads to people wanting Tebow to be a first rounder because he's a winner who just finds a way to win. It's motivational bullshite and nothing more.

The same guy who has 0 goals and 1 assist in the last 7 MLS games?

Is 10 months ago really nostalgia? Did anyone else watch the Gold Cup?

And before anyone says Cuba/Belize/Guatamala, look at all of the other players on the squad. No one was even in the same stratosphere as Donovan, and that's not something that can be argued.

Klinsmann wipes his arse with Landon Donovan. He's got 11 World Cup goals to Donovan's 5. Have some respect.

You don't cut a player who may prove very useful because he doesn't fit your very narrow idea of what your players should be and because he had a string of like four bad games

You can't go out and buy players to add to your player pool

Donovan at 70% > Brad Davis 100% Hell I would even go 60 %. He would have been an amazing impact sub. This move was pure Klinsman wanting to be in the spotlight. If a fan doesn't get pissed off that one of our best players was not selected purely based off personal differences then... I don't know. I really hate calling people bad fans, but I think your missguided at how important Donovan is to this team, and in a big tournament.

This squad? This World Cup squad, or the Gold Cup one?

The players on the Gold Cup squad who made it in over Donovan.

If we are going to praise Mix and others for their Gold Cup play (which we should), then it makes no sense to ignore Donovan's play in those games.

Okay. I'm a bad fan. Woo.

He wasn't going to start. And you don't know for sure if Klinsmann didn't pick him for personal reasons. Might have been fitness. Or a bad camp. Or whatever.

But you and a lot of other people on here are going to immediately claim it was a personal decision, no matter what. And I guess that's something that won't change, no matter what.

Too bad none of those goals were for the US.

And that's what makes Klinsmann unhappy with Donovan. He can't handle not being the biggest star in the room. There's no other explanation for the cut.

Goddamn shame. We let a f****** German ruin our chances of doing anything in Brazil. Congrats to Germany and Ghana on making it out of the group.
