Kate Abdo almost makes suffering through this commentary worth it. Almost.
I get what style this guy is going for, but it just doesn't work for the non-Hispanic American soccer viewing audience. Just like El Presidente. And I'm sure Hispanics would rather watch Univision than a bad imitation of Univision commentary in English.

It's unwatchable with that clown commentating. It makes me actually miss rob stone. fricking mute the whole time, he's the worst. Fox is such a shitty company.

Yep, and it was a blind bidding process, so there was no way of knowing what the competitor was putting up.
ESPN went market value, Fox went well over it and FIFA gave them first rights for 2022 as well.

Fox has to make some on air personality changes. The broadcast could be so much better. ESPN and NBC both have shown soccer broadcasts in this country can be done the right way. So many bad or annoying or unqualified commentators and analysts:

Cobi Jones may be the worst color guy I've ever heard. Any sport.
Cobi's booth partner for the Portugal game (I don't know his name) might the worst play by play guy I've ever heard. Any sport.
