Thoughts? Anyone going? Cheapest tickets only for Russians. For reference $1 is approx. 64 rubles on today's forex market, making that price level very affordable.

My TV is cheaper.

Plus less chance of getting my head caved in by Russian Thugs.

Part of me wants to be surprised at how the prices are, but honestly, part of me is surprised they aren't higher.

One of the easier money grabs in history, really.

ETA - Zero percent chance I would head to this WC. Or the next one. But I'm hopeful for the one after that.

So Cat 4 tickets to the WC final are only $110? You could barely get Copa group stage tickets for that.

I plan to be there. If I will pay to get all the way to Russia then ticket prices are honestly an afterthought.

I traveled to Brazil with the AO's and if I can find a friend I'll travel to Russia with them. Unless you're an idiot, you're fine in these countries. Everyone told me I was going to get stabbed and robbed and killed in Rio when I went...but guess what, I wasn't an idiot. I stayed on the main streets, didn't wander about at 3am, didn't get wasted and fall into the street. It's called common sense and you'll be ok.

Also, Yea, Russia has a lot of shite about it...but the World Cup is special. We all know Brazil was a shite show with last minute stadium builds, travel, accommodations, etc etc...but it's the fricking World Cup. I've been to hundreds an hundreds of sporting events, and nothing compares to it

Apparently these prices are a 16% increase over 2014. Still seems reasonable for the World fricking Cup.

Big difference in staying out of the bad areas of Rio and Russian hooligans who train to fight roaming main areas looking to beat up westerners like they are shock troops.

Just wear boards shorts and affliction shirts and you'll be fine

Are Russian Ultras looking to beat up all westerners or just fans from England? Am I naive to think Americans would be safe in the bars?

Eh, if Russia doesn't want this to happen it won't happen. Authoritarian governments and such.
