FCB Soccer Camp

Barcelona FC has a soccer camp in the US and I am considering sending my 9yo. Anyone have any experience with these or any other euro type camp vs a university camp?
Thanks!
Thanks!

It is a licensed camp and club to several US companies and is through FCB Escola, not the actual coaches from La Masia. FCB Escola shares the Barcelona name and colors (because they pay the club fees) but there are a bunch of different FCB Escola organizations in Spain that are all run independently from FC Barcelona.
They have a curriculum that is standardized for the camps and the US licensees try to bring over some coaches from Spain to oversee the local coaches who run most of the sessions. They teach what you would expect, possession based soccer, and the quality of what your kids will get out of it is largely dependent on the coach they actually get. I sent my kids last year and observed quite a bit of the sessions and to me it wasn't anything that I haven't seen before elsewhere. My kids did like doing a camp affiliated with Barcelona and getting some gear that was branded Barcelona but for the cost I would prob not send them back again as there is not a lot they got out of it.

Its all marketing, no different than any college or decent club camp. Its a ploy really (the Barcelona part, the camp and instruction itself might be good I don't know). But if kids like to get the shirt and if they're excited by the FC Barcelona affiliation then why not..

There doesn't seem time for camps with club soccer the way it is. We've been on a little break and it seems like forever since we've had one. My boy is ten and it feels like they do 25 tournaments a year.

This will pay off down the road when your child will be able to evade taxes.

so we held this camp at the facility i run (they rented the space to hold it last december). i don't know what the price is, but it's no different than any other good soccer camp from what i could tell.
some of the coaches were, in fact, spanish which presumably helps with marketing and making it seem more legit. you also get some barcelona gear so the kids fricking loved that.
it seemed like a good, well run camp, but not anything out of the ordinary. your kid will love it, and that's probably what matters the most.

No La Masia, no care.
Galatasary does the same thing. Saw a banner in an indoor facility I play at. Gave it the Katt Williams dafuq face.

This camp is coming to NOLA late May. From what I can tell cost for 5 days is almost $500 plus you have to buy the FC Barcelona gear. What must that run? Another $100 at least? I guess the kids do love the gear! Having a hard time seeing the value here when there is a comparable camp that charges $150.

If your kid´s a potential baller, they´ll hear about it in Barcelona.

What are the comparable camps? Any overnight camps I could ship my son off to?

When I was playing back in the day. I went to Duke, Indiana, Creighton, etc etc all the big college soccer school camps.
Duke was pretty awesome. Their facilities were amazing and the area was very nice. After the camp we stayed another week for vacation.
If your kid isn't going to be a pro, id probably get him to some college camps. Maybe some of the smaller schools. If can interact with coaches it would be much better. I didnt see an age so maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit

My boy's 10. He has a great attitude and loves to play, so he'd love a cool camp. Here he is, from a couple of weeks ago, with the ball.
