PREDICTION: They will ask Qatar to move it to the winter. Qatar reject it. FIFA moves the WC to a different region.

Why would Qatar reject it?

shite, is that why we didn't get the World Cup. I would rather have roundabouts anyways.

I hope Israel gets put in a really shitty group during qualification. If Iran makes it too I hope they get put in the same group as Israel. I know some of their athletes dropped out of the Olympics to avoid them.

Concerns have been raised about the impact a winter World Cup would have on domestic leagues around Europe, with the Qatar tournament threatening to disrupt schedules for three seasons.

Three season meaning that it would take time to phase in schedules starting earlier in the fall and ending later in the spring?

UEFA president Michel Platini and Qatar 2022 World Cup committee secretary general Hassan Al Thawadi are among those who believe holding the tournament in the winter is the best solution.

Qatar's been on board with this from the get go. Bid for a Summer game make all kinds of promises then bait and switch. I'm just surprised it came out this early and not say 2019.

I'm waiting for him to suggest allowing Qatar to field a Gulf States All-Star team in place of their national team

LULZ with the young guys who weren´t around for the US WC in 96.

It was 100 plus degrees, sometimes 120, on the pitch.

EVERYBODY bitched about it, except maybe, the Koreans.

Some of the leagues take around 2 weeks off around Christmas, if I'm not mistaken. I think the Premier League is the only major league in Europe that doesn't take a break.

94 you mean? What's the night temp in Qatar, most of the games would be at night except for those on the weekend.

LULZ to anyone who was around for the "96" US WC.

But seriously, this is going to turn into the biggest shitfest in a long time. Sepp has stated his discontent for the MLS summer schedule, meaning the only option available for most leagues is to take a month away from their season. Or to have their biggest stars miss mid season games. If it weren't so depressing it would almost be fun to watch that piece of trash dance around questions and possible solutions to this problem.

It's times like this that the obsessive European media/paparazzi can become a real treat to keep up with.
