Tbf the second injury was a freak accident

What if he doesn't play along the back line? What if he could convert to CDM and play backup to or alongside Coquelin? I know Wenger thinks Chambers has potential there as does Bielik, but Jenkinson is tall, strong, a decent passer, and is fast enough for midfield. If Coquelin and Jenks could play the double-pivot role, that really allows our offensive players to have more freedom in attack. Now, understandably, if we buy Schneiderlin or his equivalent in the Summer, this argument completely goes away.

I don't think Jenks would make it in the DM role because his touch probably isn't good enough. Then again, Chambers' isn't good enough either, and I am sure that Jenks is a much better RB than both Chambers (by a looooong margin) and Hector, too.
This is awesome:

Wow. Ramsey, Walcott, Alexis, and Ozil all playing together. That ever happened? Michael Cox just tweeted me that he thinks it's the first time.

Pretty much what I expected from the dream lineup we put out there.
Theo gets some shite for not finishing in goal scoring spots, but he also gets into those spots when no one else could. We have to keep him. He's the only attacker we have that doesn't need the ball at his feet to influence the game. He opens up so much space for Giroud to come back because the back line has to respect his pace and play deep.
Coq started sloppy on the pass but busted arse as usual. Kosc was phenomenal. Absolutely outstanding.
Ramsey brilliant, back to 13-14 form in every aspect.
Ozil and Alexis were quietly good.
Most enjoyable match of the season for me. Fingers crossed for a miracle at Monaco but no expectations of that.
8 straight wins at home in the league, best run in club history.
The pieces are coming together.
ETA: Giroud has been a stud this season too. Just great form.

We are playing brilliant soccer right now. Today was a feast for the eyes. I am ready for the Miracle in Monaco.

So, do I have this straight?
The first tiebreaker in CL is away goals, so our winning 2-0 will not mean anything. We have to score at least 3 goals.
Winning by 3 goals, we advance. Winning 3-1, we go to penalty kicks. If we score more than 3 goals and win by two, we advance on away goals.
I say we go all out the first half and if there is no chance, rest some people.
We have only ourselves to blame for having such a hard row to hoe in Fontvielle.

... at least knowing we have to score 3 goals, we can afford to play a damn-the-torpedoes attacking style.
Monaco's first goal will mean absolutely nothing. We have to score three regardless.
We are vulnerable to counterattacks even when we are playing a more conventional aggressive offense, so a ASM goal is likely.
But I say play all-out until they score the first one, then you have to back off some.
But give it up if we are not up by at least one at the half.

No any two goal win above 3-1 will result in arsenal advancing. Only a 3-1 arsenal win after extra time will result in penalties.

Thanks tigerfan. I thought of that and edited my post before I saw your response.
So yeah, we're toast unless we score at least 3 and win by at least 2.

Coq has been a revelation, but I still want us to buy Scneiderlin. He was just fantastic against Chelsea.
Posted on 3/15/15 at 10:48 am to RTR America
I agree on both levels. Without Coq we aren't were we are currently. But, MS is on a different level.

Plus I feel like they could be a good pairing for big away matches.
We've seen how much having a 2nd guy fighting for a spot has made guys like Giroud and Monreal step their game up.
And with the way Arsenal players pick up injuries....

Schneiderlin would be more a replacement for Arteta than anything. Coq is Flamini's replacement. Different types of player for different types of games. We need to find two players to take the place of Rosicky and Cazorla long term, and hopefully it will be players on the youth team.
