Not that it matters to breakdown QPR's team too much, but it will only help that they will be without maybe their top two midfielders in Leroy Fer (injury) and Joey Barton (suspension). I know, Barton is historically a massive head case, but he is their captain and a fixture in their starting 11 when fit.

Like pretty much all games against the lesser teams, midfield is the area where Arsenal should control this game. Do a good job keeping possession against a side that doesn't really do that, switch play quickly so not to stagnate in the middle so much, Alexis and Ox/Welbeck/Walcott play off of Giroud, and it should be a good win.

Arsenal have only won 1 out 7 matches there.

Need to reverse that trend today.

Nervous about the Per and Gabriel pairing. Can't wait to see Bane ... I mean Coq.

The defense needs to stop giving up those late goals. It's going to bite them in the arse one match.

It wouldn't be Arsenal if they didn't make the last 10-15 minutes completely nerve racking

Alexis seems to be getting back to form and snatching a goal before heading to United was great.

Bellerin really stood out as well.

Bellerin was great. Once we concede a goal we play like crap for a spell following the goal. I guess mentally we aren't strong enough to just brush it off and get back at it.

I thought Coq was the man of the match. He was very cool passing out of the back and under pressure. He also seemed to be everywhere. Maybe he should keep the mask like Rip Hamilton.

I agree. No mask needed, he has played that well since being called upon.

We def seem to make games harder than they should be, but a welcomed result after going to the basketball game.

Thought coq and cazorla were superb. Much better showing from ozil, Sanchez and per. Bellerin really gives us something down the rt.

Just glad to get the points, QPR is fighting for their lives.

I like the opportunities that Sanchez is creating and getting on the end of. Between him and Giroud they are both starting to get the goal scoring fever back a little bit. Now we need to find something from the wing opposite Sanchez.

Tim Stillman had some interesting comments on why he thinks Ramsey's absence has seriously effected the inclusion of Theo and lack of chances for Alexis lately.

quote:

@Stillberto If Ramsey and Alexis start tonight, don't be surprised to see the latter score. Same goes for Walcott if he plays and Alexis is rested.

quote:

@Stillberto Having Cazorla & Özil together in midfield recently has meant the front 3 has needed to be more disciplined and structured.

quote:

@Stillberto Partially explains Alexis' 'drought' of sorts. With Ramsey back, front 3 should have a bit more freedom.

quote:

@Stillberto Against Villa, Arsenal were able to completely rotate the front 3 to devastating effect. Özil, Walcott & Giroud swapped constantly.

quote:

@Stillberto That day, Ramsey (later replaced by Flamini) played alongside Coquelin in midfield. Gave us the basis for a freer front 3.

I really hope we don't run Theo off. I'm sure there are some contractual elements to why he's not playing, but his is a skillset we really need.

Plus I've already convinced my wife to name our first son Theo.

I feel like it is a whole combination of things going against Theo right now.

The contract situation, Ramsey's absence, and Debuchy's absence. Wenger obviously likes the defensive cover that Welbz and Ox provide for our super inexperienced RB's.

I'd love to see him back in the side against United. We picked them apart in the last game against, but couldn't find the back of the net.

I'd love to see Theo get more playing time. He is one of my favorite to watch play on this team.

The Liverpool thread has passed the Arsenal thread for the first time this season.

Come on, people.

I hope we take our revenge upon United on Monday.

We have to. That first game is an example on how not to finish. ManU
