re: Arsenal 2014/15 Season Long Thread

Guess we can't overlook that Arsenal are in the right for 2nd place this year, despite our lackluster start to the season. With Man City continuing to struggle & I predict that Pelligrini won't make it through the season, we could well and truly be in that battle for 2nd place. It is amazing how that squad that won the title last year is struggling so mightily. Never would have thought that Arsenal could hope for any better than 3rd this season, but there's no reason the team we have can't put it together and make a push for 2nd and maybe even close the gap on Chelsea at least a little bit.

I want Bellerin starting and Chambers at CB. why doesn't Wenger see this?
Let's go boys. We need 3 points.

Because he's really not as great of a manager as he used to be?

No question. So does Miles.

Miles frustrates me less than Wenger because I know Wegner at least has the brains to be a competent manager.

Thank goodness United and City are struggling. I am so upset with Wenger right now.

Oh look. 80 minute subs. frick you wenger.

Ramsey was invisible all 2nd half, he then waits till they go down to take him off. He pulls Ox from the wing where he was shredding their defense and puts him in the middle. Down 1 bringing on Walcott while leaving Ox and Sanchez out there but still only has Welbeck up top by himself. Chambers getting abused all match, picks up a yellow, continues to get abused but no change in strategy.
I am not really even having fun watching Arsenal anymore, shame on you Wenger. I am more upset with them than happy lately.
Then the 90th minute he brings on a 2nd striker for a defender... You had capable players out there to play striker earlier Wenger.

Why is monreal playing CB?
Oh because wenger refused to strengthen the defense with 80 million in cash on hand.

I love Wenger and everything that he's done but I think it's time for a change.
Reactive instead of proactive substitutions, awful subs, tactically naive, naive in the transfer market.
For 8 years defensive midfield has been a huge issue.
Vermaelen leaves and we don't replace him. Even sending Jenkinson on loan seems fricking stupid at the moment. With the injury history of this fricking club in the past 10 years how do you not buy defenders? I'm sick of it. He has known since before the World Cup that Koscielny has an Achilles problem but nope, let's not buy a CB in case Koscielny reaggravates the injury.
Tl;dr Wenger's done.

I just want to copy/paste the above three posts and agree with all of them 100%.
Chambers getting torched all game by Montero was so frustrating to watch. Bellerin is fast and could probably keep up better, while Calum can stick to CB where he would probably be better than Monreal. Why is this so difficult for Arsene to understand?
I know other managers would have solved our depth issues and been less tactically naive. And what the frick is wrong with this man that he thinks 80th minute subs are ok? I mean seriously, what in the actual frick? I'm so frustrated and I really can't be bothered to roll out of bed to watch this team anymore. I find watching Stoke for Geoff Cameron to be more exciting and less frustrating than watching the Arse.
At least the people at r/gunners feel the same.
The best line I've found:

When Alexis dies the Arsenal defense should lower him into his grave so they can let him down one last time.

I saw that tweet this morning and knew it was pure gold
Realistically, who would y'all want to replace Wenger?

Certainly, everyone would want Klopp or Simeone to come, but I'm not sure those match your realistic qualification. I think Frank de Boer would be a great coach, especially if he brought Bergkamp with him to groom. I know that Unai Emery (Sevilla) is considered a very good young coach, but I, admittedly, don't know enough about him to opine.
I actually think if Wenger would yield just an ounce of power to Bould, then we would improve significantly on defense. Every time he has let Bould prepare the team, we have improved on defense. However, the team doesn't look as dynamic or fluid on offense, so Wenger hates it.
I have always been in the AKB crowd, but I'm even beginning to have my doubts right now. I know we have a ton of injuries. I don't think Chelsea or Man City or anyone would play well with equally significant injuries, but I think a lot of those injuries are also coming down to the manager and staff. As sad as it makes me to say it, it might just be time.

I will correct my own post. I think we can overlook any chance we have at battling Man City for 2nd place. That's really just not going to happen.
It's sad to say it, but it's barely November and our season has already resorted to just hoping for another Top 4 finish and hoping we finish 2nd in our group to advance in the Champions League. Already went out with a whimper in the Capital One Cup. Maybe we can get lucky again and draw all home games in any sort of FA Cup run we might be able to put together in 2015. If not, I can't see us making it all the way to Wembley again to defend our FA Cup title.
What a miserable effing week to be an LSU (Alabama OT loss) and Arsenal (Anderlecht & Swansea capitulations) fan.

What a fricking shitty weekend.
God dammit, I haven't enjoyed this season a lick.
ETA: It's just kind of funny though, really, that the two goals we conceded were due to poor play at 1) DM and 2) CB. Flamini and Monreal-as-centerback cost us, again. We've now lost 9 points from winning positions this season, which would put us in second and three back of Chelsea.
Arsene, it's on you. Get it right.
