Just curious, are you talking for England?

My main issue with him is between the ears...

Thanks. My guess is that this is probably a backup plan if we dont get de Guzman back for a 2nd season.

Definitely a hot head. Needs to learn how to channel it.

Would definitely prefer his being loaned than sold. I think he has excellent potential. Too inconsistent and too hot headed to start for Liverpool right now.

No, of anyone. He can make any pass on the field at 21 years old. That's pretty special.

He's light years above the rest of his age group. He just has emotional issues on the field.

Yep and Wilshere is only 21. Both are light years ahead of Shelvey.

Yeah. I've liked what I've seen for the most part from Shelvey when I've seen him but that a hyperbolic statement. Hell Julian Draxler can do everything on the field and he's 19.

I don't think beast is arguing that at all. shelvey just has spectacular passing range, which is true. certainly can't pick the lock like özil, but in terms of range, he can hit long diagonal balls very accurately.

it's not necessarily hyperbolic. it's like saying jamarcus has the best arm you've ever seen. doesn't correlate to success.

Özil can make every pass on the field and has been doing it since he was a youngin at Schalke. He plays a bit of a different role now at Real Madrid but he's the best passer I've ever seen at a young age.

Plus we all know the answer is Ben Lederman.

Pretty hard to argue with that.

Maybe it's better that he go to another club who's fans can get really excited and make cool youtube montages but not really see results on the pitch.

Thank you sir. Wilshere is a complete player. Shelvey isn't, but has the tools to be.

Hyperbolic?

It's an honest assessment, though certainly relative. I have no reason to exaggerate Shelvey's talent level especially considering how critical I have been of him the past 2 seasons.

I didn't watch much of Ozil at a young age, and I have seen very few Schalke matches. That's why I didn't say "Shelvey has the best passing range of any player ever at his age."

Tachtsidis just turned 22 but he has immensely impressive passing range and vision even if he really suffers badly from one Pirlo pass followed by a stupid giveaway.

He kind of resembles Shelvey in that he's a strong guy even though he was recently moved from attacking midfield/second striker to deeper lying playmaker.

As a pure long range midfield passer, Verratti is simply special.

I have a feeling Shelvey's role might be more suited to a holding midfield position. Not really sure yet. The kid has some great tools, but he is empty between the ears.

I love Verratti. So fun to watch him.
