Why people believe conspiracy theories like 'pizza gate'

CNN
quote:
"The person that is against you is not simply wrong -- doesn't have a different opinion and they can be changed -- the person who is opposed to you is somebody who has committed treason, someone who has betrayed the country," he said. "That puts them in a different sphere -- that's somebody who needs to be punished."
quote:
"These stories are intricate and complicated -- far more so than reality or official explanations," University of Miami political science professor Joseph Uscinski told CNN. "People have a world view and when something happens, something is laid over that worldview. So when a Republican heard that (Supreme Court Justice) Antonin Scalia died, it isn't that difficult to feel that sense of loss knowing you're about to lose an institution to the other side and say, 'Obama must have killed him!'" -- even though that's false.
quote:
"Fact checking is vital but it's not always as effective as we like. It's the best response we have -- when appropriate," Nyhan told CNN. "But we should at least be circumspect about the idea that fact checking can counter the effects of misinformation especially with conspiracy theories because they're inherently unfalsifiable."
The logical tangle was on display just hours after the Sunday afternoon incident. Michael G. Flynn, the son of incoming national security adviser Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, sought to defend the conspiracy theory with a perfectly impenetrable logical fallacy.
He tweeted: "Until #Pizzagate proven to be false, it'll remain a story."

Never forget: 1/2 of Americans are below average.

Media is complicit as usual...
Remember way back when, when the general public watched the "media" attack Romney during the POTUS debate?
It was a video Mr. Romney!
How about when the media colluded with HRC?
There is a common problem with people and "fact check" sites are very guilty of this...
That until government aka POTUS or the media tell you something, it isn't true, as well as if and when they do tell you something, it's absolute.

Why is the MSM freaking out so badly about this? Chill the frick out. You'd think with how hard they are trying to prove this is "Fake News" that it may actually be true.

Suddenly the left thinks this is wrong.

Oh the left doesn't like it when the right flips the script on them?

There you go, OP; they're everywhere.

Because we have loony fricks firing guns in restaurants now, trying to save children who are being tortured only in the minds of other loony fricks. Society must hold the idiots accountable.

I'm not saying i believe it. I'm saying they need to quit reporting on it. They're going out of their way.

Has wikileaks been wrong yet? If so, when? And what are the percentages between wrong and right?

Podesta is a well known pedophile. I don't know about the place of business but at the least they have some very disturbing images there not to mention all of this spirit cooking crap. The MSM has no credibility and is worthy of contempt so I don't listen to a word they say

There are also a lot of people who truly believe this shite. It ain't anything new....folks have always been culpable to believing shite they know can't possibly be real....what is different is it used to be mostly religion that we fell for....now we know better than that, we all know that there ain't a magic man in the sky and a boogey man in the ground who watches our every move...but we are still looking for something that we can believe in and when we are inundated with misinformation all day and are never exposed to any differing views and we go out of our way to never associate with people different than ourselves it is all too easy to become a mindless idiot.
Someone is going to die because of this kind of shite and then it is going to get really interesting....any website that allows this kind of shite to spread without some sort of caveat that it is unfounded should be financially liable....there is no difference in publishing this shite and publishing a print newspaper....

And here lies the answer....a presumably grown adult who thinks this is remotely possible....and will get their feelings hurt when someone calls em out on heir bullshite...

Probably because John Podesta is a creepy motherfricking a-hole who loves to hang cannibalistic artwork on his while his creepier brother likes to hang pedophiliac artwork in between their spirit cooking sessions and pedophiliac coded conversation.
When you act like a creepy pedophile, people start to believe you are a creepy pedophile

In short the answer as to "Why?" is "Because CNN lies and sucks!"

Epstein got in trouble for pedophilia. Teachers, coaches, priests/preachers, government officials, hollywood, etc. get in trouble for it all the time.
It has happened for a long time. It's a big thing over the middle east to abuse the young. Reality is breaking through your blinders and you don't like it. Time to see the truth.
It's time to make the truth be known. A frighteningly large amount of people like to play with children.
