This doesn't add up. Sworn in on December 23, 2013 (for 5 years). How does someone so evil and indignant remain at his post and act with such impunity? This, from all the demons in the past administration, is perhaps the most disappointing to witness getting a paycheck. Your friend and mine....

He should be the poster boy for the "drain the swamp" movement.

I am disappointed he still has employment.

Keep your enemies closer. It isn't his turn yet.

That's a head scratcher. He flat out lied to congress a half a dozen times under oath. I remember Paul Ryan's "I don't believe you" diatribe on him, after lerner "resigned" for doing nothing wrong and this guy covered up the mess quite well.

Can't fire him. He is in a union and it is near impossible to get rid of them.

Reagan fired over 10.000 air traffic controllers for going on strike. Trump should be able to fire this clown.

So he's both management and a union member and when he negotiates with union reps it's just the union negotiating with itself?

I really hope Trump finds a way to fire fed employees who need to go. Nobody's government job should be safe regardless of need or performance just because they are members of a union.

Well I don't know if this guy is in a union, but I know he is a "civil servant." They have their own set of labor laws. I do know you cannot just walk in there and say "You're fired." It doesn't work that way. It would take months of litigation to fire a guy like that. It would be tied up in the courts forever.

It sucks, but that's the way federal employment works. Once you get a federal job, it's almost like having tenure as a teacher. Almost impossible to get rid of them.

Congress really needs to take a look at these laws and relax them. If the federal government was ran on merit and performance (like, you know, the real world) the swamp would be much easier to drain.

I'm almost certain Trump could fire him today.

Trump cannot try to influence the head of the IRS but there's no reason he can't be fired.

Sure they can. They just won't have a job to come back to as long as you have a president with balls.

This is such bullshite excuse. If there was a will, this situation could be handled.

Fire him with cause. If that can't be done, demote him, transfer him, station him in Alaska, etc.

The president is in charge of the Executive Branch. There is no way his hands are tied IF he wants to make something happen.

There needs to be a major housecleaning. If Trump won't do it, then he can suffer the consequences and I won't have any sympathy.
