So when is it a baby?

If a man stabs a pregnant woman in the stomach. Should he be tried for murder of a baby, or attempted murder of a woman?

So it is your argument that a baby growing inside someone, is nothing more than a pile of goo until it exits the woman? Why does it only start when it exits the woman? By this rational, then you reject pregnancy in general. The forming of a child to develop a human is 100% scientific fact. You can't differentiate between a child in the womb at 12 weeks - 17 weeks - 22 weeks - 48 weeks, what makes you differentiate from a baby inside the womb, to a baby 2 minutes outside the womb? What about 2 months outside the womb?

The fact is, is that you lefties are lying to yourselves. You simply want to justify the murder of babies to further a political point.

Actually it is her body. Without it the fetus cannot thrive.

This is science...so for you I understand the confusion.

And, in choosing to have sex, she made the choice of what she would do with her body. The woman's choice idea is just avoiding the consequences of that decision

Yeah that's it.

Or maybe she has decided to accept the consequences of her actions and have an abortion.. I know for you it's probably like wiping your arse...but for every woman I know who has ever made that choice...it's the most difficult of their life. But Im sure you don't give a shite about her...

...every sperm is precious right?

Tired old useless argument.

The fact is, a fetus isn't a baby. And abortion isn't murder.

I will ignore your hysterical emotional argument.

A fetus becomes a baby when it's no longer depending on a host to sustain it's life fully.

When does that occur? Your miles will vary won't they.

When can it live without connection to a woman's body.

You answer that and you will have your answer.

Like I said, your miles will vary.

I'm against it because, first, morally feel its wrong. But as you get older you tend to question things alot more, and that leads me to this...Secondly, the girls I know that are very close to me that have had the "procedure" have never recovered...Its so tough to live with...destroys them, and those it doesn't destroy, you don't want to be around. its a weird thing...

I have said before, and I guess it has to be said again.

A fetus remains a baby as long as it's connected to it's host.

When it is no longer connected to its host AND can survive the disconnection...

well hell we have a baby.

Any other answer is incorrect.

I would say that abortion prior to 22 weeks or so isnt killing in any real sense since the fetus doesnt yet meet the qualifications of a biologically functioning humanoid. Im still extremely uncomfortable with the idea of ending a future human life, and even more uncomfortable with the lack of responsibility it propogates. Once a fetus is capable of being salvaged outside the womb, it becomes a very gray area with regards to killing.

Late terms abortions are absolutely murder though in every sense of the word.

See even you have no idea of what you are saying.

And that would be pretty cruel of a host to look at the fetus before the cord is cut, and say "nah I don't want it."

Who says I am against it? I think parents should be able to kill their children right up until they are "viable", or around 15 years old.

Oh, I know it is. And with people like you, who subscribe to this kind of thinking, it will only get worse.

Personally me being against it doesn't mean I have the right to tell women what to do.

My solution put it up for a vote by all the women in the country and the result becomes the law.

I just spent a few weeks in NICU with my girl that was born a couple months early. I was surprised how well babies do at a very early age, esp girls at 20 weeks and beyond. Go look at any good NICU around the country and it will blow your mind how many weeks they are, and how well they do. Mine never needed oxygen, they just used nasal cannulus at a flow rate on room air, kind of like CPAP. The one behind us at C-section did die, but I was definitely amazed with how resiliant these little babies are...They are fighters, and have that will to live...
