There was something over the past weekend (ON THE INTERNET) regarding a women who lived in the same complex as Duncan. She supposedly checked in with symptoms.

You don't have to take my word for it.

Try CBS....

LINK /

Lots of highly ranked doctors in there lamenting how much easier it would be if they had a detection method for asymptomatic patients....

Dude, one thing that you'll find if you are aware of anything technical that hits the news is that the media is HORRIBLE at accurately reporting it.

He is wrong in stating that he has access to an asymptomatic PCR test.

Simple as that

And trying to rub off the credentials of experts around them doesn't change that, nor inherently challenge the credibility of the experts

Oh, and FWIW, I've lost count of the number of PCR tests I've done based on blood samples. I know the challenges and pitfalls involved at a conceptual level. (disclaimer: I'm not familiar with medical testing, just the background technology)

So yeah, I have more of a leg to have an opinion on it that a guy who talks to guys.

UPDATE: The patient was placed in isolation then released: “The patient was placed in isolation at Texas Health Dallas and evaluated with all appropriate precautions,” the statement read. “The patient was determined to be low risk and wanted to leave the hospital. The CDC and Texas Department of State Health Services were advised of this and did not feel it was necessary to have her detained.

I am sure they did test them daily but its probably not public knowledge. If it was and everyone knew about this test every idiot in America would run to the local ER demanding one.

Sorry to bump, but just saw this bit in addition to my reply above.

So to keep it secret, they let an Ebola positive patient get on a plane.

Yeah, that should break that conspiracy.

UPDATE: Nina Pham upgraded to good from fair, and the NBC cameraman is considered Ebola free and can go home. Ironically, the rest of the NBC crew is still under quarantine. LINK

Amber Vinson is reported to be improving since she was moved as well.
