The only thing I think was real BS was the neo-Nazi angle...but I do concede that Russians have much more engrained hate for Nazis than id ever really understand.

We're kind of odd in that as a nation we don't really hold grudges.

Most others do to different extents.

Most Chinese hate the Japanese for instance as they too remember WWII. Koreans as well.

Putin being against the Nazis yet today is not only unsurprising, it also plays well with dividing his opposition by pointing out to a large audience they are supporting actual Nazis.

Most people have no idea what was going on in Ukraine in the years prior to Russia's attack.

And that was by design.

That was my first thought that Nazi is being used as a scape goat...but the more I think about it, as others have pointed out, Nazis wrought unbelievable destruction and pain to Russia in ww2 and I can certainly see the generational hate

That explains why Russia has had such a stable system of government over the last century plus , how they have lived so oeacefully, and how they have prospered; while the West has languished far behind.

The West hasn’t always thought like that. It’s a relatively recent development. How’s everything been working out in the West in the 2000s?

China is absolutely destroying the US with the long game.

People say this, then say Russia has no claim to Ukraine if you're not going to listen to the history of why Russia feels they're in the right, you can't comment on it ETA: I am not saying Russia is in the right with Ukraine at all.

It’s all been a microcosm (what’s been done to Ukrainians) of what’s played out on our on soil, to our own citizens. We just haven’t figured out a way to bomb ourselves for profit. That seems to be the main difference in domestic and international policy.

It is hearing from Putin’s perspective.

Putin is more centered around 2014 as the beginning of the conflict. We are more centered around February 2022.

I'd like to hear our Sen. Kennedy comment on Putin's perspective, as Kennedy supports 'Ukraine' continuing the war. It was the US policy ($$$) that corrupted Ukraine's shot at being a functional Nation. We are not far behind them.

Monetizing your economy in order to absorb 1 billion low skilled workers over 50 years isn't a long game. It's just doing what you have to do to survive. It's just.....math.

The long game is having infrastructure, natural resources, and a population dynamic that will thrive while other parts of the world (India, China, Russia, Europe, Japan, Korea) are imploding.

It's not having a perfect system. It's about having a BETTER system than anyone else's. Which we do.

Think of it as a currency zero sum game. People who think we are fricked because we will have to devalue the dollar to pay off our debts leave out one thing: Which currency exactly will we sink against?

Name one major country in the world that has a better outlook than ours 30 to 50 years from now.

The responses here are hilarious. "Putin wants peace" lol really? Poor Russia! Such nice neighbor, why oh why everyone want to leave for NATO? Very strange!

"Putin is a great historian". Haha. None of you have the FAINTEST idea if Putin's version of history is accurate. And Putin's premise is ludicrous. Who gives a shite what the borders looked like 500 years ago? I guess we better turn the USA back over to the Natives and Mexicans.

And if you think this is Putin's true, honest, thoughts on the subject, think again. The purpose of the interview, and the information within, is calculated. Purpose is to manipulate, not inform.

I will say that Tucker did a decent job. Asking if Hungary had a right to areas of Ukraine that were formerly Hungary was a nice touch and Putin didn't have a good response.

Putin has a way about him that you just can't trust but seems logical on the surface.

Was really hoping Tucker would ask him how come your country has so many hot women.

This was a tremendous watch. Tucker did a better job than I was expecting. I actually found some of the non-Ukraine related discussions more interesting.

Where the f**k does all that history Putin goes through have to do with the fact that in 1991 the Ukrainian people told Russia to f**k off they did not want to be Russians?

ETA: I am halfway through the interview and Putin is sounding like someone who is butthurt about how history turned out and is trying to rewrite history. Putin trying to say that they pulled their troops back from Kyiv because it was a sign of peace. Haha what bullshite. Russian troops were not pulled back. They got their arse kicked and fled back to Belarus abandoning their dead, wounded, and equipment.

You can tell Putin takes it personally how Russia did what they needed to do to sit at the global table and potentially be allied with, and even join NATO, and the US still decided to make an enemy out of them. The other interesting perspective is how the US clearly treats everyone else like they’re beneath us. Makes me wonder how much of the Chinese hatred towards the US is us just being total assholes like we always are.

I do want to add I work with a lot of former USSR citizens and they all genuinely hate modern Russia/Putin. They have their reasons no doubt. These people all still live in Eastern Europe, they’re not Americans.

European Russians are mix of slavic and nordic genetics. Those genes lend themselves to what humanity currently considers attractive. Plus Russians place a higher value on fitness than the west. Also if you have to walk and take the subway or bus you get more exercise. All of that combines to make beautiful women. Unfortunately the harsh weather and Russian diet doesn’t help them age very well. They go from babe to babuska in just a few years and miss the attractive middle age years.

Putin mentions that NATO expanded east 5 times, but he has never acknowledged that the countries asked to join NATO. Those countries asked to join NATO because they didn’t want to be under Russia’s influence. Putin is coming off like a very well educated person who can’t get along with others and can’t understand why nobody wants him in their club.

Do you have an argument or any information to share or do you just want to put your tantrum out there for the world to see?

Uh...can you show us where you got that assessment of history?

Putin acknowledged the lines could be negotiated...many Hungarians live there...still today like nothing ever changed.

The issues are the west going against treaty and policy since 92.

NATO expands but why?

Dunbass start war

Agreement to end it was partially signed then Ukraine talked out of it...

So the war continues...

I think that may be part of it. The main reason is also why the South has more better looking women. When a large population of your young men die in war, there is a huge disparity between the number of men and women. The remaining men only choose the best looking women to have children with and the less attractive women didnt pass on their genes.
