He hired her. He clearly did not ask for a Social Security number so he could take out taxes. He did not want to ask for one. The Labor Department pick did not want the hassle of taking out taxes and he certainly did not want to open a Pandora's box. Hear no evil see no evil.

Again, the Labor Department pick obviously did not ask for a social security number or work documentation. It means one or two things. That he did not want the hassle of taking out taxes for gainful employment or he thought she might be illegal, or both. At best it's the first . At worst it's both
